Big nit: In this world, the Constitution has been outlawed. No freedom of speech, no freedom of the press, and so forth. Our heroes, however, manage to put the Constitution on the Internet. My nit is this; how can the Internet exist without free speech? It doesn't make sense that the Internet could have arisen and been made public in a world where freedom of expression doesn't exist.
Near the end (iirc) they show people arround the world discover the constituion (it having been uploading to wherever on the net). But where was it uploaded to that people could just discover it by accident? Even assuming it was a web or ftp server, how did they get access to it and/or find the server address to connect to?
Unfortunatly, a common myth about the internet that if you upload something to pretty much anywhere, people will stumble accross it. Oviouslly it doesen't work that way.
I know this is a year late, but you definitely misunderstood the end of this episode.
They discovered the constitution on the same computer Wade was working on earlier. Obviously, she left a copy on the computer and Hurley discovers it at the end of the episode. And then, emailed to his friends who emailed it to their friends, etc....
So why would the constitution be on a disc from the other world when the constitution doesn't seem to have been oulawed on it? Am I missing something? Or was it just outlawed there too, and in two weeks they never noticed? :-)
