Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Mystery Science Theater 3000
PLEASE NOTE: after the site was hit by a spambot for the umpteenth time, you can now post on this section only if you are registered and have a username and password. Sorry if that causes a problem for you - but it causes a problem for me if I have to delete hundreds of pointless posts!

Hi all. As Wes Collins, the official moderator of the MST3K section of Nitcentral, hasn’t been around for a while, I’ve got permission from the Chief to act as co-moderator of the section until such time as Wes returns.

So if you’d like to see a new page set up anywhere within the MST3K section, or if you’ve made an error with a post that you’d like me to correct, either post a note to me at the bottom of this page or email me. You also need to post a note to me at the bottom of this page telling me that you emailed me, as my nitcentral account is so full of junk emails that I don’t bother checking through them all!

Excellent news!

The first Film Crew DVDs are available for pre-order from Amazon (and probably other sites).

The site that Keith mentioned above made it sound like they're supposed to be spoof DVD commentaries; however, listening to the extracts on the site they do sound just like MSTings and are very similar to MST3K episodes.

Sadly for me the DVDs are NTSC format and I don't think my DVD player will handle them. I might be forced to buy an all-regions one! I have been tempted ever since some of the MST3K episodes came out on Region 1 DVD which hadn't been released on video. Please send all donations to CallieNeedsAMultiRegionDVDPlayer@Once. Thank you kindly. ;-)

The Best Brains guys are also doing this! which is cheaper than the Film Crew DVDs.

WARNING! Watch out for the Penguin Goa'uld!!

Thanks to all your kind donations (don't I wish!), I am now the proud owner of a multi-region DVD. I am also not the proud owner of much money as I keep buying American DVDs!

I bought one of The Film Crew's offerings (Hollywood after Dark). They are very much like MST episodes - although they call them commentaries, they're exactly the same kind of riffing they did in MST episodes, and consequently are good fun! However, I hope I can persuade myself not to buy any more!

I also paid waaay too much money for the MST3K Volume 10 DVD boxset . That's the one that was quietly withdrawn shortly after being issued - something to do with copyright, apparently - but I managed to get it on eBay. I've not had a chance to watch all of it yet but the first two movies are Godzilla Vs Megalon and Swamp Diamonds, both of which were great fun. On one of the latter two is also Poopie part 2, more outtakes, which I'm particularly looking forward to.

If that's the one with Teenage Strangler, you're in for some good times.

It is, and I watched that episode last night together with Poopie 2!
