Did anyone else see Nick Tate in the fourth (and final) season of Farscape?

By CR on Tuesday, October 07, 2003 - 11:31 am:

Nope.

By Douglas Nicol on Tuesday, October 07, 2003 - 12:22 pm:

Well...that was a short reply. :)

It was in the episode "A Constellation of Doubt" where he plays the presenter of a TV show focusing on Moya and her crew.

Nick Tate was also in a couple of war films. He was in the film "Return from the River Kwai" and in the 1969 film "Battle of Britain", although apparently he was uncredited in that one.

Doug who did ( Nick Tate) he play Battle of B?

By Douglas Nicol on Thursday, October 09, 2003 - 1:14 pm:

According to the IMDB he was uncredited and just played the role of 'RAF Pilot'. This must have been as little more than an extra.

Saw Nick Tate on the Farscape episode. Good to see him again. Wondering when and where he would show up in Farscape (maybe as a pilot of some lost space craft?:))

In the BoB movie. Now I will have to find my tape and look it over again. Haven't seen it in a while.

Made some comments in the War movie section.

Found my copy of Battle of Britain (BoB). Kept an eye out for Nick and I think I saw him.

When the Christopher Plummer character is leaving for his new posting in Scotland, his car is stopped and surrounded by several pilots saying good-bye and one plays a bagpipe. In the close in shot of Plummer in his car, Nick is on the right. As stated, it is little more than an extra part since several characters were speaking including Nick. I believe I saw him due to his facial profile and nose. Did not see him again in the movie, not even when the squadron was shot up (Michael Caine's character was the new commander who took over from Plummer and then during the Battle they were 'jumped' by a flight of Me-109 which one pilot survived, and it was not Caine).

He also tours up in the film "Submarine X-1" (1966 ?), a 1960's film about the attempt during World War 2, to sink the German Battleship
Tirpiz, by using mini subs, to lay explosives under it's hull. He played the role of one of the commander's of the "X-Subs".
The lead, I think was James Caan..
