Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Comic books: Comic Books' Gutter (Kitchen Sink): Original Moderator's Front Page Archive
Kon'nichiwa, bonjour, hola, allo, aloha, ciao, and hello. My name is D. Stuart and I am this message board's moderator. Prior to describing what shall be included in this board, I wish to express my gratitude to Phil Farrand for authorizing my request--puerile perhaps, but a request nonetheless--for a section devoted to comic books. With that being said, everyone who visits and contributes shall do so in the various sub-sections. I have separate comic book companies listed each with corresponding comic book series (e.g., Batman, Superman, etc., under DC). Furthermore, I have or shall have other sub-sections. One in particular is listing comic book epics and is appropriately named Comic book epitases. Freely enjoy this message board and all its sub-sections, but please do not post any offensive material, such as an insult toward a fellow NitCentral member or I. In fact, I am a fellow NitCentral member.

I prefer that fellow NitCentral members contact me if they wish to have a comic book series included on this message board. And if you do so, please identify to which comic book company the comic book series hails. However, I shall not accept anything pertaining to such comic book companies as Image and Blackball.

D. Stuart: My "comments & questions" shall follow in the order that you see them. ;-)

If you don't want others to list comic series, then why do you have a Create New Conversation button in the folders?
(I was planning to add a Legion Of Super-Heroes board in the DC section when I noticed your comment.)

If you want people to contact you, why not put up your email address?

You have The Shadow listed under DC, but The Shadow is not owned by DC and has been licensed to other comic companies through the years. Perhaps you should create a Licensed Characters section for characters like The Shadow, Doc Savage, Tarzan, etc., etc.

We already have a Spider-Man section at NitCentral, so your listing for him is redundant.

You say you don't want any series from Image, but isn't Top Cow an Image company?

You do know that Phil does not want a Simpsons board here at NitCentral don't you? You could get in trouble for Bongo comics.

If you decide to create a general topic/discussion area, I would suggest calling it the Comic Book Gutter, since in a comic the Gutter is the white space between the panels.

Actually, I made the Top-Cow board. What's wrong with that? It's not violent or sexually explicit or anything. Just read any issue of Fathom and you will see it's ok. Same thing with the Cliffhanger! board; Battle Chasers is not an intense comic! Maybe less intense then most X-Men or Batman comics!

Mr. Morgan, no, I was referring to adding any further comic book companies without my consent, not comic book series. Feel free to add as many comic book series as you see fit under any of the comic book companies as long as the comic book series is owned by the company under which you are placing the topic and are considerably appropriate material. I know even the Archie comic book company has had its carnal instances. As for my E-mail address, I realized as early as late yesterday night that I insisted for fellow NitCentral members to contact me via E-mail without ever providing an E-mail address. This was a harmless error and may easily be rectified. My E-mail address is Ubiqtysync@nitcentral.com, and please submit any flaws I may have in the message board. In addition, I am not fully aware of the character of the Shadow and only claimed him as being a DC character with reference to a poster depicting the grave of Superman. And lastly, there is much difference between The Simpsons television program and The Simpsons comic book series. Be that as it may, I shall still discuss it with Phil Farrand and come to a resolution.

Mr. Ram (and you might want to read this as well, Mr. Morgan), I deny any requests for comic book series that relate to such comic book companies as Image and Blackball because they far exceed a content level. For a matter of fact, I am being cautious with Malibu in that I shall restrict specific comic book series from being posted. However, this is not the primary reason I have decided not to allow comic book companies to be posted left and right. Rather, I must annex to each comic book company such features as add a new conversation and add a new message, something of which Top-Cow and Cliffhanger! are lacking at the moment. Capeesh? I hope this settles everything.

...Uh, well, all you have to do is pick any issue of Fathom or Witchblade or even Battle Chasers and you can plainly see these comics are story driven rather than violent or truly explicit.

REALLY!! I missed that issue!

Mr. Pence, read Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures issue number fifty-seven (Terracide part three of three). Once you reach page eight, you shall then realize to what carnal instances I am referring in regard to the Archie comic book company.

Oh, never mind. I thought it concerned some illicit activity between Archie and either Bettie or Vernoica. Or both . . . :)

The Bongo section has officially been deleted because of conflicts with its content and Mr. Farrand's interests. This may apply to any other section that is crowded with remarks not relating to the topic, such as a recent comment under Marvel's The Uncanny X-Men discussing the upcoming motion picture.

Which comic book company featured or currently features a comic book series devoted to Mortal Kombat?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Nawdle on Monday, December 13, 1999 - 02:23 am:

The company that featured Mortal Kombat was Malibu Comics.I don't think anybody else has put out a series for it.

How about a Comic Sink for a larger variety of comic related topics?

By D. Stuart, the Comic Books moderator on Tuesday, December 14, 1999 - 04:37 pm:

Thank you, Nawdle. And Mr. Webber, your request has been granted.
