Funny Left Handed Compliments

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: The Kitchen Sink: Humor: Funny Left Handed Compliments

Stress the word funny.

My favorites today are one you never heard of and one by Winston Churchill.

"The American always do the right thing when they have exhausted all other possibilities" - Churchill

"Marshall does have an extreme genius for getting out of the positions he gets into." - Alexander Alhekhine (God Bless You :)) on American GM Frank Marshall. (It stands as the nicest thing he ever said about another chess player if one discounts his calling Lasker the best player of the age as an insult to Capablanca.) ("Who are these guys, Blue? And who cares?":))

A.K.A. Back-handed Compliments.

Did I insult people in their right minds by being gauche? I should know better. Many southpaws are very adroit.

Sorry lefties, I was just reflecting what the majority say the language should be.

Hey, if "right" is "correct", what is left?:)
