Planet X DVDs has put together a clever spoof of Gene Roddenberry's pre-Star Trek life.

It was directed by Tim Russ (Tuvok)

Starring:

Walter Keonig as "Offchek"
Nicelle Nichols as the Police HQ Telephone Operator
Ethan Phillips as "Mr. Gorn"
Robert Picardo as a physician

While on police patrol, "Gene" is seeking some inspiration for his sci-fi idea.

He meets Mr. "Offchek" who was a Ukrainian accent, a motorcyclist from a gangs called "The Klinguns", a man with a Scottish accent fixing his car,a police HQ operator who has a lovely singing voice, an excitable doctor and an Police Captain who gestures while he talks. While he's seeking inspiration, a bunch of people wearing red shirts are getting killed off.

It's very clever.

In other words, it's sort of a parody of George Lucas In love that was in turn a paroyd of Shakespere In Love? ;-)

Yup. That's why I said "Clever"..not "Original".
