My #8 was from Iron Man, ca 20 years ago -- the last time I bought the comic. It was the sound made whenever he put his iron on.
#1 Was also popularized by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, who also used #7 in their third movie.
Here's one from a bit before my time (but currently timely)--
"Hi, ho, Steverino!"
1. All righty, then!
2. Would you believe...
3. Dy-no-mite!
4. It's clobberin' time!
5. I love it when a plan comes together.
6. Great Scott! (Of course I'd pick this one )
Uh, Guys (and ladies)... we still haven't got Influx's original #8.
Darth semi-simultaneous posts strikes! I'd had that page up for a while without refresh, so I didn't see Influx's 12:46.
ScottN's answers (maybe)
1. ???
2. Maxwell Smart
3. Jimmy Walker---Good Times
4. Ben Grimm (The Thing) The Fantastic Four
5. ???
6. Superman (cartoon version)
ScottN's
1. Ace Ventura (never saw it, but heard it enough.)
5. A-Team, George Peppard (was his name Hannibal?)
6. Also figures prominently in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, but just about every line from that is a catch-phrase.
Here's a toughie -- not a catch phrase but more of a trivia question that I recall from Starlog Magazine many years ago. It quoted many lines from Star Wars (I hate having specify "the original, no bloody Episode number" every time I refer to this one....)
Who said "I think so."?
Here's a few more:
1. Waa-waa-waa! (nope, not a baby. Not her, either!)

4. Bart Simpson
5. ???
Alternate #1: Lucille Ball (I Love Lucy)
Influx:
2. Baby, in the puppet series Dinosaurs
ScottN, true for #1, but not the one I was looking for. Also, when I said "not her", I meant Lucy because I figured that would be the first guess. Nice alternates, though.
Good show, constanze! Thought that might be too obscure.
5. Jimmy Neutron
Oh, and Influx, didn't the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles say Cowabunga too?
Influx,
I really loved that show, it had many good ep.s and amazing love for detail. Too bad it's rarely shown, but every now and then I catch some ep.s during the kids time.
Oh, and Influx, didn't the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles say Cowabunga too?
Yes, noted above -- that was the other instance.
I really loved that show (Dinosaurs), it had many good ep.s and amazing love for detail. Too bad it's rarely shown, but every now and then I catch some ep.s during the kids time.
I have the Earl and Robbie action figures which I got on sale somewhere. I think they had Mom and Sis too, but I don't recall seeing Baby. The level of detail in these figures is great!
Trivia note: The guy who wore the Robbie suit (Lief Tilden) also played one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Funny that I recognized him by body language (as a longtime martial artist), then found out the name later.
In reference to Influx's original #10. Go kitchen! (in another language) ... the French phrase shouted by the Gourmet Academy chairman is "alle cuisine" and translated into english would be more like "go cook!"
Fred, even with three years of French I wasn't sure about that -- but I thought I'd heard Alton Brown say exactly that on the American version as sort of a joke.
And it's "Allez Cuisine!" ;)
I wasn't either, so I used a cheap site called freetranslation.com and "it" translated the French into what Alton said on the show, so I gave it credence. Some restaurants have a position titled "Chef du Cuisine" which basically means, "Boss of Cooking" or "Boss of My Own Cooking" and it sounded like Alton's translation made sense. I have NO training in French except the words and phrases I learned in culinary school, therefore I defer to your greater depth of knowledge.
Derf
Babelfish said it too.
OK, so what was Influx's #1 (wah wah wah)?
I think it may be the adults in the Peanuts cartoons. They make a sound that could be written like that.
No, Butch, he said that wasn't the one he was looking for.
Chachi (or should I say Bob Loblaw?).
Correct, mrmous. It always struck me as a really forced attempt to create a catchphrase.
From what TV shows are these catch-phrases from?
1. "To life immortal!"
2. "Just the facts, ma'am"
3. "Who loves ya' baby?"
4. "OTAY!"
5. "Na-Nu Na Nu!"
6. "Whollopin' Web-snappers!"
7. "Fire! FFFFFire!"
1. ???
2. Dragnet (Sgt. Friday)
3. Kojak (Lt. Kojak)
4. SNL (Eddie Murphy as Buckwheat), or possibly Little Rascals
5. Mork & Mindy (Mork)
6.???
7. In Living Color (Jim Carrey as Fire Marshall Bob?)?????
7. Beavis
A note about #5 -- on one of the merchandising products, a popular t-shirt, I think, it showed "Na-No Na-No", when the saying was clearly "Na-Nu Na-Nu" (however it is spelled -- that's the way it was pronounced).
At the end of one show where Mork does his usual report to Orson, he does a cheerleader chant and spells out N-A-N-O, asks "What's that spell?" Orson says "Nanu!" -- and Mork totally blows him off saying something like "It's 'Nano', chump!" (clearly saying it differently than he normally did) possibly making fun of that t-shirt.
Of course, I only saw this once, about 30 years ago, so my recall may be a little bit fuzzy.
#1 was from the TV series "The War of the Worlds" (1988) It was said by all the aliens.
ScottN got # 2-3 correct
4. The Little Rascals by Buckwheat (or Porky)
5. ScottN correct again
6. Spiderman (1960's version)
7. Influx got it correct
D'oh! Sorry, Scott. Somehow managed to skip over where you guessed that earlier.
No biggie, I've made the same mistake... WITH MY OWN posts as well.
