let me tell you of two great thor moments. i'm not sure of the issues where these appear

1) some kids are arguing whose stronger thor or the hulk. thor flies down to tell them of a battle he had with the hulk. to make a long story short, they fight. each getting in good shots. now here's the cool part, the hulk knocks thor on to some train tracks and is hovering over him. at the same time the 20 car train is burrowing down the track. just before the train actually collides with the hulk, he reaches around grabs the train picks it up and slams it upon thor. the caption from the writer, editor, or whoever read "there's no sound i could make that would justify this action so i want make one" (paraphrasing of course) and to this day that is the coolest comic moment to me. it's a must read moment.

2) thor lands on some planet which is about to me destroyed by a celestial. so being the arrogant jerk that he is he plans to take the giant robot out. to put things in perspective i'm 6'1 and thor would have been about the size of a fly to me (not very accurate but go with it). so thor's boasting and trying to get the celestials attention so he destroys the mountain the robot stands on but still nothing. so thor wraps his belt of power around mjolinr and actually cracks the armor of the celestial which gets his attention. so now thor's about to go in and mess around then things get worse. you see the celestial thor was fighting was just judging the planet his big brother was the one who was to destroy it. on the final page we see just the foot of the executioner celestial and the first celestial only comes to his ankle. also a must read.

seeing is believe. i don't think i told the stories well so don't hold that against me. both are great comic moments. and both happened in thor which is weird for me.

Giants Walk The Earth! Journey Into Mystery #104? Reprinted in Marvel Tales #14? (Not sure what issue. My copy is missing the first 6 or 7 pages.)
Interesting that Heimdall's shield should have what looks to be an H on it.

Balder says, "I ride Odin's own winged station!"
Stallion.

The stallion is unnamed in this issue, but I was wondering if it was supposed to be Sleipnir, but if it was what happened to his other four legs? (And if it is Sleipnir is Loki his mother the Marvel universe like he is in the Norse myths? ;-)

The Cobra And Mr. Hyde! Journey Into Mystery #105 Reprinted in Marvel Tales #18
The story starts off with the ending of a meeting of the Avengers. For some reason Giant Man is about twice as tall as everyone else. Why? Compensating for an inferiority complex? Is there a reason why he can't be normal-sized at the meeting?

Also the legs of the chair he's sitting in look too thin & spindly to support his weight.
("Geeze, Giant Man! That's the fourth chair you've crushed this month!")

Mr. Hyde has a Time Reversal Ray that when you aim it at someone you can project a backward running movie of that person's life until they were born.
Man, would police investigators love something like that.
The nitpicker in me feels the name isn't entirely accurate. It doesn't really reverse time, but then I guess it sounded better than Personal Timeline Projector Ray, or something like that.

Anyway, Cobra aims the ray at Thor, then Cobra & Mr. Hyde watch Thor fly backwards to when he left the office of Don Blake. Problem is the ray shows the window `close' when actually it should have followed Thor into the room itself.

A caption says the ray can "only project a picture of the one it was originally focused upon".
No. Earlier when Mr. Hyde tested it on the Cobra it showed the fight Hyde & Cobra had earlier.

The Mighty Thor #161

On page 16, panel 2, Galactus has grabbed Thor in his hand and is prepared to throw the Thunder God away. However, the Big G's hand (the right hand) looks wrong. Either the thumb should be on the top side of the panel or it should be on the left side of the panel. Either way, that's not how the right hand would look if it was in the position its shown in.

Od's Blood!

Since Thor is in Asgard in Thor #153 (vol 1), isn't he supposed not to revert to Dr Blake?

I thought he reverted to Blake only when he was on earth..

I am now following this title, starting with #610 where Thor must fight his insane clone
"Ragnorok" created back during the Civil War. This issue, along with Sentry: Fallen Sun, is included under the Siege: Epilogue banner.

I like this Thor comic, I am enjoying it so far. I shall continue to follow this series!

So if there were a bunch of those clones, would he be fighting an Insane Clone Posse?

Reading J. Michael Straczynski and Olivier Coipel's run on "Thor" from 2007. LOVING it. I've never read the ongoing Thor series, but I'm really liking JMS's take on it, which involves Thor coming back to life after going into a sort of hibernation limbo, with everyone else having thought he was dead, and now he's setting up shop in the American Midwest, and trying to rebuild his former Asgard and bring back his comrades. And I'm totally falling in love with Olivier Coipel's art, with which I was previously only familiar in passing. He really knows how to use black and shadows to give weight to objects, his details are wonderful, his action scenes are breathtaking, and his varied linework is extremely impressive. This is a great jumping-on point for people who are only somewhat familiar with Thor. Highly recommended.
