Centaur Comics (1938-1942)
Centaur Comics was an early comics publisher, and the first one to go out of business.
It's believed to have created the first comic devoted to Western stories and in its short time of existing created over two dozen superheroes.
As its characters are all in the Public Domain other publishers have used its various creations for their own, such as Malibu's The Protectors.
