What cartoon character would you date?

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: The Kitchen Sink: Media (TV, Print, Sports, etc.): Misc Nits & Comments: What cartoon character would you date?
By Blue Berry on Sunday, September 21, 2003 - 7:53 am:

This is a $tupid observation from a radio morning show. I don't know how the subject came up, but the guys were quick and had answers at the ready. "Jessica Rabbit" and "Betty Rubble was hott!" The woman doing the traffic pointed out they were nuts. After a while she had to take Spiderman with the comment "Who else is there 'Shaggy'?" (One of the guys said "'Fred' from 'Scooby Doo'. She pointed out he's taken by Daphne who has noticed Fred's gay. [C'mon, ascot?])

So for guys, no Jessica Rabbit, no adult cartoon like Stripperella, no normal choice like Pocahontas, no female superheroes (I love that Golden Lasso!:)). We are looking for entertainment like "Betty Rubble is hott!"

My choice is Miss Bellam (sp?) from the Power Puff girls although I'd like to see her face. (If there weren't the superhero exception I'd go for Royoko from the Tenchi stuff.)

For women, no male superhereos because we want entertainment. (Reading something about if Shaggy shaved and stopped wearing a green T-shirt he'd be OK would be funny; reading, "Clark Kent" is not.)

By Blue Berry on Sunday, September 21, 2003 - 7:55 am:

Oops Daphne has not noticed Fred is gay.

Proofreading is a goodly thung to does.:)

By John A. Lang on Sunday, September 21, 2003 - 12:59 pm:

Penelope Pitstop is Sizzling hot!

Also ALL of Josie & the Pussycats!

By ScottN on Sunday, September 21, 2003 - 5:26 pm:

Blue, I believe it's Miss Bellum, as in "Sara Bellum" (get the pun?).

By CR on Monday, September 22, 2003 - 7:25 am:

Well, the Totally Spies girls are cute, or so I thought 'til I found out they were in high school! (Yes, I know it's just a cartoon, but it's the idea...)

By John A. Lang on Monday, September 22, 2003 - 3:06 pm:

Miss Tickle from "Mission Magic"..she's a REAL HOT teacher!

Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) A real nice dish!

Wouldn't date Snow White...she's too vain. Always primping herself in the mirror and stuff.

By ScottN on Monday, September 22, 2003 - 9:31 pm:

Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) A real nice dish!

Yep, except she's jailbait.

By Joe King on Tuesday, September 23, 2003 - 2:53 pm:

Some Ideas

Princess Romy (Around The World With Willy) Certainly no dog!?

Esmarelda (Hunchback of Notredame)

Captain Amelia (Treasure Planet) Certainly no dog!? (again) the best ship's cat ever, got premoted up to captain.

By CR on Wednesday, September 24, 2003 - 7:52 am:

Helga Sinclair, from Atlantis, The Lost Empire. (IIRC, she was voiced by Claudia Christian, who's quite a babe in real life.)

By CR on Friday, September 26, 2003 - 7:00 am:

Katie Butler, from the series Valley of the Dinosaurs. (One of my favorites, by the way. Favorite cartoon series, that is.)
Oh, don't tell Helga I want to date someone else! :O

By CR, stating what should be obvious on Friday, September 26, 2003 - 7:02 am:

Aw, criminey, I forgot to mention that it's only if Katie's 18 or older...

By Erik on Friday, September 26, 2003 - 10:09 am:

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Kim Possible, even though she is underage.

By MarkN on Friday, September 26, 2003 - 4:19 pm:

Veronica!

By Joe King on Saturday, September 27, 2003 - 3:45 pm:

Kim Possible just slipped my mind when making my last post. (have the creators of Lara Croft noticed her yet?!)

Most of the girls from Daria are hot apart from the the lead & Sandy who's far to stuck up for my liking.

By Blue Berry on Sunday, September 28, 2003 - 7:36 am:

KP besides being jailbait could beat me up. Though that has possibilities I'd like to be able to pretend... Of course if she graduated and let me pretend.:)

By MarkN on Monday, September 29, 2003 - 1:32 am:

When I was little and watched Speed Racer I sort of had a crush of Trixie, who I later found out is voiced by the same woman, Corrine Orr, who also does the Snuggles Teddy Bear.

By ScottN on Monday, September 29, 2003 - 9:13 am:

Didn't we all have a crush on Trixie as kids? (At least the male half of the nitpickers)

By MarkN on Monday, September 29, 2003 - 11:10 pm:

If you catch Speed Racer on TV, or have its first season on DVD, and listen to Trixie and then watch a Snuggles ad you'll see the voices for Trixie and the bear are pretty identical. Girl still has it. :)

By Blue Berry on Tuesday, September 30, 2003 - 5:58 pm:

Girl still has it. :) - MarkN

Except I don't have a crush on the Snuggles bear.:)

By Blue Berry on Sunday, October 05, 2003 - 6:25 pm:

Any women answer yet? How about the gay guys?

By Desmond on Sunday, October 05, 2003 - 9:49 pm:

Has anyone mentioned Debbie from Sealab 2021 yet? (And presumably, she had an analogue in Sealab 2020, but that was slightly before my tine.)

By Daroga on Sunday, October 05, 2003 - 10:34 pm:

Since you're looking for female opinions ...

Clopin from Hunchback
Thomas from Pocahontas
I thought there would be more, but I can't think of them.

By Blue Berry on Monday, October 06, 2003 - 3:00 am:

Daroga,

They are disappointingly normal. There is nothing wrong with that, but I hoping to be entertained.:)

I was hoping more for Mr. Peebles from Grape Ape or Ranger Smith from Yogi Bear, or maybe Race from Johnny Quest. (He seems normal but a pre-teen boy too often rescues him.:))

By CR on Monday, October 06, 2003 - 7:24 am:

I think my mom once mentioned that she or one of her sisters had a crush on Race Bannon.

As for more cartoon characters I might date, pretty much any of the female bridge crew from Macross/Robotech. Or maybe that's all of the female bridge crew from Macross/Robotech. :O

By Winnie the Pooh on Monday, October 06, 2003 - 7:44 am:

Blue Berry Noted:

Except I don't have a crush on the Snuggles bear

But I do! :)

By LUIGI NOVI on Monday, October 06, 2003 - 8:21 am:

The X-Men's Rogue, as drawn by either Marc Silvestri, Jim Lee, or Alan Davis. :)

By Daroga on Monday, October 06, 2003 - 12:15 pm:

Blue Berry,

Sorry I'm so disappointingly normal.

I thought of one that I wouldn't really like to date now, but when I was about five I would have:
Leatherhead from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

By John A. Lang on Tuesday, October 07, 2003 - 10:20 am:

Leela & Amy from "Futurama"

By CR on Tuesday, October 07, 2003 - 11:39 am:

G'uh!

By Scott McClenny on Saturday, October 11, 2003 - 1:44 pm:

If she were old enough and out of high school
I would pick Kim Possible although it would be strange having Ron Stoppable and Rufus tag along!
Maybe we could set Ron up with She-glow!!!!:)

If that didn't work out I would settle for Sam from Totally Spies with ditto as above.

Or maybe Josie.

If none of them worked out does Jane Porter from
Tarzan have a sister?(The animated Tarzan on
Disney Cartoon Network that is,the one married to Tarzan.)

And finally we end with a HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO
MICHELLE TRACHTENBERG AKA DAWN SUMMERS who is now a very legal 18!!!!!:)

By John A. Lang on Saturday, October 11, 2003 - 9:57 pm:

Stripperella

By John A. Lang on Saturday, October 11, 2003 - 9:58 pm:

Sorry...I forgot you didn't want her here. My apologies.

By Blue Berry on Sunday, October 12, 2003 - 3:04 am:

No problem John. Just wanted amusing answers. Stripperella, Jessica Rabbit, et. al. are not wierd enough. Sorry, John, you are too normal.:)

I guess we should add super villians to the super hero exemption. Although I would not date a woman who may kill me. I don't think Catwoman is a murderer, she's single, gets over her crush on Batman, would not care about my evil plansd to dominate the earth mwuhuhahaha, is cute, would be very kinky, and could fund my hobby of researching ways to dominate the earth mwuhuhahaha. (Oh, she would not look at Blueman twice until about season #4, the Blueman can not compete with the crush she had on Batman.)(Hey, she might steal my plans to dominate the earth, mwuhuhahahaha, but it'd be worth it.:))

She seems like too good a choice. Let's exempt her.:)

By Duke of Earl Grey on Sunday, October 12, 2003 - 8:23 pm:

If I were a rodent...

Babs Bunny or Gadget Hackwrench

Weird enough for ya?

By John A. Lang on Sunday, October 12, 2003 - 8:44 pm:

Princess Daphne from the laser-disc game "Dragon's Lair" Now, SHE IS HOT!

By Blue Berry on Monday, October 13, 2003 - 3:31 am:

Duke of Earl Grey,

Why only if you were a rodent?:) Babs is HOTT! (I mean she's so pink and comes with her own bunny suit. Talk about a sex pot!:)))

By John A. Lang on Monday, October 13, 2003 - 8:00 am:

Video Game Characters:

Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)

Mercedes Cortez & Candy Suxx (Grand Theft Auto-Vice City)

Cate Archer from the "No One Lives Forever" series

By Duke of Earl Grey on Monday, October 13, 2003 - 1:11 pm:

Duke of Earl Grey,
Why only if you were a rodent? :)
Berry

Well, I figured that by the very nature of this board, any response presupposes at least one or two big "ifs". :)

By Anonymous on Monday, October 13, 2003 - 8:48 pm:

Some Cartoon Characters I wouldn't date:

Beavis and Butthead
Ren and Stimpy
Miss Beanca (sp) (from the rescuers)
Jon (from garfield)

By Desmond on Tuesday, October 14, 2003 - 7:35 pm:

Duke of Earl Grey...
If you were a rodent, you'd date Babs Bunny? Why? Rabbits aren't rodents. Sicko!

By Blue Berry on Wednesday, October 15, 2003 - 3:01 am:

Desmond,

Rabbits are of the same family as mink, rats and mice. You can get your girlfriend a rat fur coat, carry a lucky mink's foot and put carrots in your mousetraps and not be too far wrong. (Single, but not too far wrong.:))

By Duke of Earl Grey on Wednesday, October 15, 2003 - 3:22 am:

Oh Desmond, you're right, I admit it! I was in error. Mice are from the order Rodentia, but rabbits (I almost accidently spelled that rabbis... oops!:)) are from the order Lagomorpha. How embarrassing. Maybe I am some kind of sick prevert... (and yes, I meant to misspell that one...)

By Blue Berry on Friday, November 14, 2003 - 3:21 am:

I think Dexter and Dee Dee's mom has it going on.

By Chris Booton (Cbooton) on Friday, November 14, 2003 - 2:04 pm:

Rabbits are of the same family as mink, rats and mice

Mink arn't in the same family as rabbits, rats or mice. Mink are mustleids and are in the same family as otters, ferrets, ermines and weasels.

By Blue Berry on Monday, November 24, 2003 - 6:34 pm:

My kids like Totally Spies,

The girls, Alex, Sam, and Clover, would drive me nuts with their teen attitude. However in one episode they met the team of three women who used to be the teen spies but were captured by an evil megalomaniac bent on taking over the world. They were definitely worth a whoop.

I think they fall under the superhero exception, however.

By Paul Joyce on Friday, December 05, 2003 - 6:26 pm:

Leela from Futurama.

By Blue Berry on Saturday, December 06, 2003 - 10:24 am:

Paul,

Wouldn't the one eye thing bug you, or do you think it'd be easier to sneak things by her?

(things: n From the Old Germanic Thingee or Thoinges In some cotexts conotes females that it is considered bad form socially to admit.:))

By ccabe on Sunday, December 07, 2003 - 10:22 am:

Jessica Rabbit from "Who Framed Roger Rabbit."

By Jessica Rabbit on Sunday, December 07, 2003 - 10:30 am:

I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.

By Paul Joyce on Sunday, December 07, 2003 - 4:38 pm:

Blue, did you not see the episode where this old schoolfriend of hers surgically crafted her a second eye? Trust me, she didn't look as good. :)

By Anonymous on Sunday, December 07, 2003 - 8:51 pm:

Isn't that the episode where some kid ruined the season final or something for "Single Female Lawyer" and they have to stage a showing of it so Earth isn't destroyed...

By Josh M on Sunday, December 07, 2003 - 11:38 pm:

Yeah, Leela's the way to go.
And Zelda. Though she's not really a cartoon.
And I know she's a super hero, but I had a crush on Storm when i was a kid. A younger kid.
Princess What's-Her-Name from Earthworm Jim. It was a cartoon for a while.

By Joe King on Tuesday, December 09, 2003 - 2:05 pm:

I presume that's not Zelda from Terrahawks!? :-D

By Paul Joyce on Tuesday, December 09, 2003 - 2:32 pm:

>> Isn't that the episode where some kid ruined the season final or something for "Single Female Lawyer" and they have to stage a showing of it so Earth isn't destroyed... <<

No - the episode I'm talking about is Season 3's 'The Cyber House Rules'.

By CR on Wednesday, December 31, 2003 - 12:25 pm:

Re: Blue's 24 November 2003 Totally Spies post: Don't you mean "...worth a WOOHP" instead of "whoop"? (For those who don't know, WOOHP is the organisation the spies work for; it's an acronym for World Organization Of Human Protection.)
I agree with the spirit of an earlier post from Scott (if I were younger or the girls were 18 or older, and if I were a cartoon character instead of a real person) that Sam's pretty fine!
OK, time for me to leave again...

By Adm. Chrichton on Wednesday, February 25, 2004 - 10:06 am:

Yosemate Sam!! (I'm lying O.K.)

By Kerriem (Kerriem) on Friday, April 09, 2004 - 7:09 am:

If I was a rabbit I would definitely make a play for Bugs Bunny. (And then we'd raise sarcastic, clever little bunnies like Max of Max & Ruby...OK, I may be overthinking this now.)

Human-type cartoon males...hmmm...when I was in elementary school I used to have a pretty major pash on one of the guys from Voltron, Defender of the Universe. But I forget which one. It wasn't the one named Sven, though, I'm pretty sure I'd've recalled that.

There was also an animated Hulk that featured a fairly fine (teenage) Rick Jones. Or I could, erm, distract Gambit for awhile while Luigi goes after Rogue...:O

By CR, wondering why I can remember minutia from a twenty year old cartoon, but still have to struggle to remember my own phone number... on Sunday, April 11, 2004 - 12:29 am:

Which Voltron? The five member lion one or the fifteen member spaceship one? Wow, that's alot of characters to choose from! The one you liked wasn't the blue-skinned aquatic guy, was it? No, wait, that was a female... maybe I'd date her. I remember now, there was a "guest" aquatic guy in one spaceship episode, Captain Keyo, or something. But I digress. (Big surprise, that.) Was the one you liked the spaceship captain, Hawkins if I recall correctly? Oh, I know, it must have been Pidge, or whatever the young boy from the lion team was called. :O

I seem to recall my mom mentioning something about liking Race Bannon from Johnny Quest when she was younger, but the time frame seems a bit wrong, unless she was still watching cartoons as a late teenager. (Of course, I still watch cartoons, but that's another matter altogether.) Maybe it was one of her sisters who liked Race.

By Doug on Sunday, April 11, 2004 - 2:22 am:

Nala from the Lion King

By LUIGI NOVI, being ironic on Sunday, April 11, 2004 - 5:00 am:

Man, that's sick, choosing beastiality. Why can't you choose a HUMAN cartoon character like the rest of us normal, well-adjusted people who fantasize about dating cartoon characters? Sheesh, what a perve.

:)

By John A. Lang on Sunday, April 11, 2004 - 5:37 am:

Trixie from "Speed Racer"

By Kerriem (Kerriem) on Sunday, April 11, 2004 - 7:12 pm:

Which Voltron? The five member lion one or the fifteen member spaceship one?

The former. And no, not Pidge...now that I think about it, the character was named Lance or Lawrence or something. Anyhow, he had a nice line in brooding and an abundance of that long spiky hair that seems to be as much the male anime trademark as doe-eyes are on the women.

I seem to recall my mom mentioning something about liking Race Bannon from Johnny Quest when she was younger...

Your mom (or whichever female family member) had good taste. :) Race was pretty hot, especially considering he was a Hanna-Barbera character and thus never changed clothes and only changed facial expressions on alternate Tuesdays. I'd take him over Fred from Scooby-Doo any day.

By Adam on Sunday, April 11, 2004 - 8:35 pm:

I don't think you'd have to worry about going out with Fred from Scooby Doo. :/

By CR on Sunday, April 11, 2004 - 11:03 pm:

How about Fred from The Flintstones, then? :O

Re: Voltron... Oh, Lance! I remember him.

Re: Race, sort of... Mike Road, the guy who voiced Race, also voiced another white-haired Hanna-Barbera character, John Butler from Valley of the Dinosaurs. That character's daughter, Katie, seemed kind of datable, to me anyway. (Also from that series, the cave girl Tana probably grew up to be rather datable as well, but in the series, she was only ten, so forget it!!)

By CR, forgetting more than just his phone number... and why SHOULD I remember that, since I don`t call myself? on Sunday, April 11, 2004 - 11:08 pm:

Man, it's been too long since I first posted on this board, and I forgot I'd already mentioned the Race Bannon and the Katie Butler stuff back in 2003!
Sheesh!

By Kerriem (Kerriem) on Monday, April 12, 2004 - 7:08 pm:

Fred Flinstone, no. Barney Rubble...maybe. :O

By John A. Lang on Tuesday, September 07, 2004 - 8:34 pm:

Aeon Flux....DEFINTATELY!

By Influx on Thursday, September 09, 2004 - 6:57 am:

Aeon Flux....DEFINTATELY!

How do you think I picked my name? :)

By Matt Pesti on Saturday, November 06, 2004 - 5:15 am:

Which Debbie? Debbie or black Debbie? :)

By Joe King on Saturday, November 06, 2004 - 1:42 pm:

How about Princess Candy from Dave The Barbarian?

By John A. Lang (Johnalang) on Monday, September 24, 2007 - 8:12 am:

Lois Griffin (Family Guy)

Maid Marion (Rocket Robin Hood)

By AMR on Sunday, August 30, 2009 - 8:24 pm:

Erin Esurance, from those funny Esurance ads.

And when I was younger I had a crush on a video game babe, Blaze Fielding from the Streets of Rage trilogy for the Sega Genesis. She was the best character to play in the third game, athough she should have been wearing red, and not siler/grey.

I'm sure there are others!

By Judibug (Judibug) on Tuesday, January 05, 2016 - 11:54 pm:

Part of me wants to make Fred from Scooby Doo be un-gay, but i might just go for Danger Mouse or Penfold.
