I'm saddened to inform long-time Nitpickers that I just found out that Brian Fitzgerald, known as "Fitz" to friends, passed away on Thursday, March 24, of causes that have not been disclosed. He was eight days shy of his 36th birthday.

I remember Fitz as someone I enjoyed talking with, as an ally in discussions that criticized pseudoscience and irrationality, a film buff who could rattle off all the technical jargon related to every film format known to man, and a friend.

I will miss him.

That's a dang shame. I may not have been here as long as some but I too enjoyed conversing with Fitz. I have a great respect for the man and he will be missed.
