Not really a nit, but shopping for Christmas stuff I'm amazed at how good looking dinosaur figures look.

When I was a kid dinosaur figures were monocolored. Sure you could get differently colored dinos, but that was because they poured different colored plastics into the mold: grey dinos, green dinos, blue dinos, red dinos, etc., etc.

These days you can find inexpensive multicolored plastic dinos that almost look like they were painted (not to mention far more detailed sculpts). An amazing time to be a dino fan.

Around Christmas, I saw a commercial for a remote controlled car that actually drives on walls and ceilings and is controlled by a special flashlight shone in front of it.Wow, where was this 30 years ag ok?

I see 8 year old kids with iPhones while 30 years ago when I was their age, I had a Gi-Joe walkie talkie (with morse code key!!!) and the most hi-tech thing I had was a VFD tabletop electronic game called Astro Thunder.

30 years ago, an elementary class might have had a pen pal sort of thing with another class in another country. They'd write to them and send pictures etc. It was all over snail mail. Getting a reply was always a treat where the entire class would get together to see it.

Now, everyone in the entire class can send messages, pictures and even videos in real time to another class or person on the other side of the planet at any time or from almost anywhere using hand held tech.

Sure, e-mail and the Internet in general has made at least some of that true for the general public on some level for years now. The difference however between generations is still staggering.
