Speak up please!

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: The Kitchen Sink: Stuff Waiting to be sorted: Speak up please!

What is with all these low talkers? The kinds of people that whisper things rather then saying them. It's like they're afraid to say anything outloud or something.

It's annoying having to say 'pardon me?' three or more times because a person won't speak loud enough for me to hear them.

What's worse is when they get pissed at me because I can't understand them.

Is it really asking much for people to speak up?

Who do you think you are, Seinfeld? Not that there's anything wrong with that! :)

Lol, I just realised that I pretty much copied his entire rant from that episode. :embarassed:

Oh well, my point still stands that I do wish people would speak up as it is annoying having to struggle to understand someone.

The worst thing is when you are waiting in line for the next teller, cashier, or whatever, and they don't feel the need to speak up when all the others have been saying "Next!" The sound you most want to hear when you're waiting in line is that word, just for you.

Yes, I know it's another Seinfeld show... What, you can't hear me?

Try waiting on soft talkers at a resturant, I have and it sux, espically because you know that if they get pissed at you for saying "excuse me, what was that" too many times that's you tip vanishing.

Still, close talkers are worse than low talkers.

Why do customers wait 10-20 feet from the counter waiting for an invite from the cashier? The cashier may be busy with something else, and/or it's not obvious the customer is ready. Why do they stand so far back?
