Did anyone else have the Awesome VCR
Optimus Model 201 VHS Player 4 Head Hi-Fi Stereo , it had a cool black design and remote. I purchased it from Radio Shack in January 2000 for
$139 . It was Excellent
In my opinion it was one of the best VCR's ever made
Then around August of 2004
I purchased for around $40 my first
DVD player, it was a
CyberHome CH-DVD 300 DVD Player w/ Remote
Then in June 2013 when my Grandmother passed away she left me her
DVD/VCR Combo , it was a
Philips DVP 3050V
DVD/VCR Player , Left to Right
On the Left side was the
4 Head Hi-Fi Stereo VHS VCR part,
While the Right side had
the DVD Video/CD Player part
Back in the day my family had the cool 19-21 inch color TV sets , Emerson,Sharp,Magnavox,RCA, they were the big and bulky CRT TV sets , but at least they had many different cool unique designs with character and personality. The Flat Screen TV sets of today All look exactly the same, dull, boring, no matter what brand they are , they all look the same. Also I remember around
September or October 1991 , a 19 inch
GE Color TV was delivered to my family, but my Father Returned it because it wasn't working properly, we had it for a few days , but the
General Electric TV had a cool design
I still have my old VCR, because I still have a few VHS tapes.
I still have and use a VCR. I tape the morning weather forecast and shows that air when I'm not home. Still have many tapes.
I still have two VCRs. With a lot of very old tapes. Like my original VHS of Star Trek TMP. I don't play them, as I'm afraid they'll break.
How do you use tbe VCR, Butch? It should be pretty much useless for taping anything nowadays. TV signals were upgraded to ATSC (am I right about that term?) from NTSC a while back; VCRs used the NTSC standard. Unless you have a converter box, either from your cable provider, or one of those converters the U.S. government provided a few years ago. Which converted the new signals to NTSC. Basically, they were for those who couldn't afford new HDTV sets.
My cable box converts the signal to the old style signal. They have the option of non-HD or HD channels for their channel packages. I go with the non-HD which works fine for me.
Anyone ever have a DVR , was it with a Cable Subscription like Time Warner Cable, which brand was the best
