Anyone else read the CSI comic put out by IDW? I've read the first series, Serial, and it's pretty good. Very close to the show. The artwork is good (not great, but that's OK).

Yep. According to the Grand Comics Database IDW has done 7 miniseries with the main series, 4 with Miami & 1 with New York.

Hardly the weirdest licensed comic since crime comics have been a big deal at various points in comics history.

IIRC Dell/Gold Key (who seemed to do the majority of licensed comics) had a rather... eclectic choice of titles. I remember being surprised to learn they had done a comic based on The Courtship of Eddie's Father.
