Carried over from a conversation in the X-Men section of the Movie board:

I also didn't like that Jean Grey was played by Perfect Mate Kamala herself, Famke Janssen, who's 10 years older than James Marsden, who looks just like Cyclops should. Isn't Jean about a year younger than Scott in the comics? I always thought so.

You have aproblem with this? I'm all far dating older women! If the movie is set up so Jean can be older than Cyclops, I say good for the writers! Why is it older man-younger women relationships are so acceptible, but the opposite is looked down upon? That's why I admire Courtney Cox and David Arquette. Cox is seven years his senior! And what Joy Behar? Her spousal-equivalent (her phrase) is seven years younger than her as well, and they've been together 18 years!

actually..it makes the Logan-Jean-Scott triangle more symetrical too (assuming Logan is in his 50s-70s or more)

I thought it was cool that Jean Grey and Cyclops were an older woman/younger man....
LET'S GET OFF ON A RANT HERE!
Logan Fought in WWII. He's old
Matt: I think he wants the young man/older women part of the discussion to continue.
Man, am I losing it, then.
1) I thought Logan fought in Korea, not WWII.
2) I didn't know that Famke Janssen was 10 years older than James Marsden. Not that I could tell, since Cyclops wears those glasses thingie (and you can tell a person's age by their eyes. Or I can, anyway).
3) My observation is that Jean Grey looked a bit like Beverly Crusher anyway, but just in the facial construction.
4) Anyway, who cares about older women dating younger men? I'm apparently dating a man five years younger than me (not that he's aware of it, and I was surprised to find out myself).
Hm.
You are over 23 right? :-)
Hey, I'm trying to be nice to my supposed boyfriend.
Okay, okay - I'm apparently dating a boy five years younger than me. Happy now?
(I'm 21 - he's 16.)
MJ, I'm so hurt...
This may not be the best time in the world for me to talk about this (the girlfriend never broke up with her ex-fiance, it's so fun to be lied to for two and a half months), but I think it's more important to worry about common interests and levels of tolerance than age differences.
That said, you've got to watch out for the "I know better because I'm older" syndrome, which was the ex-wife's favorite thing in the world.
Addendum: my ex-wife was 14 years older than me, while the recently ex-girlfriend was six years younger. I've seen the clouds from both sides now...
What are you hurt for? I never said a word about you. I never called you a boy younger than me, unless you're Pierre in disguise.
Scratch that. My mind is off wandering in the depths of my stories.
M. Jenkins- Well, it's time for a refresher course.
1. I assume you know whats on the mind of every 16 year old male, and with you it would be illegal.
2. If you two survive that long, DON'T run for homecoming court. It is very irriating when a 20 year old ringer wins that.(At least at my all boys school anyways.) But it dosen't matter since the contest is already rigged by the Academic-Athlethic-Alumni complex. I still can't belive I wasn't allowed to run Stag.... Booohoooo (Starts crying.)
Matt's Emotionally upset, So as he amuses me, I Darth Pah Armus, will cover rule 3.
Don't worry DPA I'm better now. Strange, how did that get written?
Some Other reflections
My sister won't date anyone younger than herself.
My policy is not to date anyone older or younger. Since one years means a lot more when your're 18...... Of course I don't date anyone to keep up "the image".
