Again, I was very impressed with Byron's moral stance in this episode--until the very end, after he learns from Lyta where telepaths really came from. Then he scared me.
I just couldn't take to Byron. I don't know why, he maybe just seemed too good to be true.
Do all Hyach know about the Hyach - DOH!! or is it just their leaders. It seems difficult to hide something like this from the people by only writin history texts after the hyach doh were exterminated. Surely some hyach historian would attempt to delve through archives pior to the 800 years the hyach doh were wiped out, or do a lot of historians dissapear! Also Franklin was way to unforgiving to the ambassidors when he refused to accept their shame over their history. Its not as if humans have never attempted genocide in their past. (e.g. colonizing America, WWII, minbari War.)
Stuart: Maybe what shocked the doctor wasn't so much that it was started, but the fact that it actually WORKED. Need I remind you that in all the human examples you sight, it failed, and all of the targetted groups are still alive and kicking?
Brian : I can well understand youre point, but I was meaning to say that Franklin was being unreasonable for not accepting the apologies of the descendents of those guilty of the genocide. The two ambassadors were not personally responsible. yes im sure they deserve a little bit of scorn for trying to cover up the misdeeds of their ancesters, but Franklin treats them as the guilty party, surely this is not right? I mean do humans in the B5 universe go to great and lengthy discussions with outsiders about the various extermination programs set up on earth in the past.
