Whatever Happened To Mr. Garibaldi?

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Babylon 5: Season 4 - No Surrender, No Retreat (2261): Whatever Happened To Mr. Garibaldi?
The Plot: Sheridan realizes he is dead. G'Kar tries to avoid the Centuari while looking for Garibaldi. Delenn urges the Rangers to attack the Shadows.

In an earlier episode, Mr. Morden asks G'Kar what he wants. He responds that he would like the Centauri's bones to be made into playthings... little flutes for Narn children. In this episode, G'Kar is told by Mollari that he will become a toy for the amusement of Catagia. Also, in the same conversation, G'Kar tells Mollari that he will remove the monster from his neck. Considering what happens later, at Mollari's death, this is rather prophetic.

That's JMS for you!

Lorien is an interesting character. Between the moments, huh? A very clever, time defying concept.

Another Tolkien referance(ignoring the blantant "the hero falls down a deep pit and returns to life" one): Sheridan tries to remember what happened and tells Lorien, "I fell for a long time." Sounds remarkably like Gandalf's, "Long time I fell..." ;)

Also, I loved that fact that Delenn is Sheridan's reason to return, but when I was thinking about it later, it reminded me of "The Princess Bride" when the Miracle Man asks the "mostly dead" Wesley why he should be brought back to life. Wesley replies, "True. . .love. . ."

Ruminations

- I like the close up of Ivanova's rank... as a message that she must take on the responsibilities of the captain.

- Vir's noticably thinner. He's lost weight... must be that Minbari exercise program. Either that, or being on Minbar was less stressful and allowed Vir to improve his health.

- There appears to be writing on Loriens head piece. Likely the same language that you see on the columns surrounding the cave on planet Z.

Great Lines

- Lorien: "Because my reluctant friend, you are quite quite dead."

Nits

- Lyta's eyes are open and regular in the wide shot, but then cuts to a close shot and she's opening them slowly to reveal the black eyes as if they were closed the entire time Delenn was calling her name.

- Lennier initiates getting the hell out of here... but they already are in hyperspace.

- The Centauri red shirt guards are very pale. Don't they get outdoors more? you'd think they haven't seen the sun in years.

You'd look rather pale if you worked for a boss who might decide to brighten up a party by having you nailed to the wall if you didn't laugh at his jokes.
