Shadow Dancing

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Babylon 5: Season 3 - Point Of No Return (2260): Shadow Dancing
The Plot: Sheridan launches a preemptive strike against the Shadows. Franklin is stabbed doing a good dead. Then he meets himself. A surprise vistor comes to the station.

The only obvious nit was when Melissa Gilbert replaced Beth Toussaint (who also, by the way, played Ishara Yar) as Anna Sheridan. Since JMS wrote most of these episodes, nits are few and far between.

It was one hell of a surprise. And I for one am not complaining about the nit Kitzman pointed out. I like Melissa Gilbert more anyway.

It just brings up the idea, when Sheridan jumped forward in "War Without End" Part One, did he replace his future self? If that happened, then when Delenn jumped forward to the end of this episode, did she replace her future self? It appears she did not, and she was still shocked, even when she knew what was going to occur. Aaaagggghh! Time paradox.... again.... Still handled much better than on Star Trek.

Lee, Zathras answered it in WWE2 when he said that there was a "time flash". I don't think it's the same as becoming unstuck in time...maybe just a case of time flashing back on itself so for a minute you remember the future.

Great episode. Lots of drama, some personal moments(John&Delenn, Marcus's "Minbari greeting").
I also liked the exchange when Ivonava must send the signal to the waiting fleet, which will reveal the White Star to the Shadows:

Ivonava: Well, who wants to live forever?
Marcus: I do! But what the hell[He turns to the console and pushes the button] Signal sent.

Very similar to that, anyway.

By Adam on Tuesday, June 29, 1999 - 11:18 pm:

Hmmm. I never thought of it but that is ironic.
Ivonava doesn't want to live forever, Marcus does. I wonder if JMS tossed this sentence in there, knowing what was coming, or just tossed it in as a throw away line.

One wonders why such an ardent Clark loyalist would be at Babylon 5. Even more curious is why she would bring along her husband who's not so enthralled by Clark as well as their kid. You may recall from the last episode that Earthgov is spewing all sorts of negative propaganda about the place and the people who are there.

I don't think the mother was such a ardent clark loyalist, more like an ardent conformist.
