Am I the only one who likes Delenn?????
I like Delenn too!!!!
Glad to hear it. I've met Mira Furlan and she comes across as a very warm and caring person. Not like some of the stars of a series where they think they are too good to talk to the fans. In fact all the B5 cst are quite friendly.
II've heard Delenn labelled as the most boring charcater in B5, which I must disagree with. I don't think it would have been the same without her. She could go from fury (Dukhats death), to despair (the death of the Markab race). She is definitely a fine actress, but I understand she has found it practically impossible to get further roles which is a crying shame as I think she is far superior to many of the Hollywood 'stars' now.
I liked her character as well.
Even more than her character, I liked her voice. JMS said that origionaly Delenn was to me a seemingly genderless character. Delenn would be voiced by a man and played by a woman. After trying the male voice and realizing that it did not work he decided to make the character compleatly female, and use the actress' voice because of how good she sounded on set.
Her voice is perfect for the part. It can be sultry, sexy to extremely powerful and threatening. Compare her in some of her intimate moments with Sheridan to something like threatening the Earth Destroyers in Severed Dreams or her despair and fury in Atonement/In the Beginning.
I don't care her having hair though. well hair under the bone. It starts at the top and then somehow goes under/through it to flow down below.
Doesn't seem realistic to me. Was the actress tired of the bald bone look that the rest of the minibari have?
I doubt that Mira had anything to do with Delenn's new appearance, but I agree about the hair - it always puzzled me how it went underneath the bone and yet she managed to keep the short part (i.e. the bit from her scalp up to the bone) as tidy and as combed as the rest.

Delen was always intended to become more human from the first draft of the scrips, which included hair.
Trivia; Delen was in the original script intended to be a male Membari who became female - which is why Delen in the pilot episode looks and sounds more masculine than in the series. Naturally this idea was dropped.
