One thing you see in Babylon 5 that you generally don't see in other SF shows is people wearing glasses. I though we might list some of them. Here are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

The Narn assassin in The Parliament of Dreams
General Franklin in GROPOS
The weapons seller in Comes the Inquisitor
Duncan in Exogenesis
Jeramiah in Grey 17 is Missing

Didn't G'Kar wear some once, at least reading glasses?

By Lolar Windrunner on Wednesday, October 01, 2003 - 8:19 pm:

I dont remember that but I have to agree with the thought that unlike star trek babylon 5 was not afraid to admit that not everything is going to be hunky dorey perfect in the future. That humans have been and always will be a very complex and troubled race and that when we do get out among the stars it will not change us only make us more so. Not to mention if we do run into other races how much more complex life will be.

In season 5, I believe, a Centauri guard was wearing glasses! That looked most odd!

Aninynony, you might be thinking of that Narn assassin I mentioned above, who wore them only for reading.

Probably, oh well a good excuse to dig all the tapes out until I can upgrade them to DVD.

Also the mad bomber in Convictions.

While I certainly don't disagree completely with you, I would be remiss if I didn't point out that Admiral Kirk had glasses in Star Trek II.

Ok and that made one out of how many billions of people in the trek universe?

I was rewatching A Day in the Strife and noticed that doctor on Earth that Franklin was talking to was wearing glasses.

By Merat on Saturday, January 24, 2004 - 1:25 pm:

Actually, the explaination of why no one in Star Trek wore glasses was that there was a medical treatment for it, Retinax B. Kirk was allergic to it, so he had to wear glasses. Actually, considering the advances in laser eye surgery, I wouldn't be surprised if no one wore glasses 300 years from now.

By Merat on Saturday, January 24, 2004 - 11:43 pm:

Ugh, two sentences starting with "Actually." Shoot me.

By Anonlasikman on Sunday, January 25, 2004 - 11:12 am:

Actually, depending on how things go there may still be people with glasses. i went to my doctor to see if I could get lasik or something to get rid of wearing glasses and they said I didnt have the right eye structure for lasik and that my prescription is too bad for anything else.

The inquisitor in Intersections in Real Time wears glasses.

Also a couple of the crew of the Excalibur were four-eyed.

By Brian FitzGerald (Brifitz1980) on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 - 4:42 pm:

G'Kar wore them once and they were clearly human made glasses that didn't quite fit his face. JMS said that it's because Narn pride themselves on physical perfection & it would be considered a great humiliation to admit that you can't see well anymore. So the Narn who have vision problems are basically stuck trying to find some alien lenses or treatment that can fix their problem & hope that nobody on homeworld ever finds out.

Could you cite the episode where G'Kar wore glasses? The only Narn I can recall wearing glasses is the assassin from Parliament of Dreams mentioned above.
