Cool Episode.

Very Sad in many ways. I wonder what will happen to the keeper in the gift Londo gave Sheriden. I wonder if it will be followed upto in the final. No real nits.

Nice use of the acohol/Keeper idea.

Was there a KMYF moment going on between Sheridan and Lockley?

How come in the last couple of episodes, including this one, everyone started calling Delenn "Delenn" instead of Ambassador? They didn't start calling Sheridan "John" instead of Mr President (except G'Kar but that was a friendly thing). Even Zack called her Delenn as they were leaving - bit disrespectful, I thought, especially as he'd never done it before.

By Liam Kavanagh on Tuesday, January 26, 1999 - 7:07 pm:

Maybe because Delenn is no longer the Minbari ambassador. She can hardly do that while on Minbar, and the vice-presidency of the ISA (whenever she gets that) probably takes up some of her time.

I found this to be the more moving of the two final eps. How about the final shots as Sheridan is leaving B5? We go over Sheridan's shoulder and out the front window of the White Star across the gulf and up to the window of C&C. Lochley salutes (Scoggins' acting was great - she really looked like she was hurting...or maybe she just didn't want the show to end). We change perspectives, and are looking over Lochley's back out the window of C&C, and zoom THROUGH her saluting arm out the window and across to the White Star. OK, so it was a bit melodramatic, but it still pulled at the psyche to see the next generation of B5 leaders arrayed across the window in C&C, now that all the originals were gone. Poignant.

Gotta credit JMS: when he hits you, he's never subtle.

I was just thinking about the FX shoots of C&C and the WhiteStar.

Has anyone ever seen a shot of people looking in on a ship from the outside that looks very real? C&C looked OK, but the bridge? of the WhiteStar didn't look like it would fit inside the ship from the way the ship looked.

A very emotional scene though, music very similar to the music during the destruction of Babylon 5.

I watched this again last night and broke up again at the leaving scene - as soon as Sheridan said, "Match rotation," I started grizzling. Such a gorgeous idea, to have all the replacements for the originals lined up in C&C; and Lochley's salute breaks me up every time.

However, being a little more in control of my nitpicking faculties this time:

Has anyone got a larger screen than me? When the camera goes from C&C out towards the White Star, then runs up the nose of the White Star and towards the window, it looks as if Sheridan doesn't return the salute until just before the camera reaches him, which seems rather a long time to wait - I would have thought he'd have saluted immediately after Lochley did. On the other hand, it might be the movement of someone behind him - I can't tell.

Then again, he must have phenomenal eyesight - it's a fair old schlepp between C&C and the bridge of the White Star. I'm surprised he could see what she was doing anyway.

NANJAO - did you notice that just before Sheridan put his arm down, his chin quivered as if he was trying not to break down himself? Cute.

Was anyone else puzzled that after Delenn's farewell speech in the Zocalo, everyone watched them go in silence? In some ways it seems very respectful, but I kinda anticipated a belting round of applause as they walked away.

And I still don't understand why Sheridan and Lochley never called each other John or Elizabeth even in private. In public I can understand it, but no matter how badly a marriage falls apart, surely it would be natural to use first names in private? I found myself wondering if there was still a spark there and they were fighting to avoid admitting it.

Doesn't Sheridan have the faintest idea about security and safety? Surely there was a reason for that safety door to shut, i.e. to prevent those noxious gasses getting into the rest of the ship, and to contain any explosion. Demanding that Lennier open the door was totally the wrong thing to do - in fact Lennier did absolutely the right thing (if for the wrong reason) and ought to have been drummed out of the Anla'shok for endangering the rest of the ship if he had opened the door!

Lennier was always my favourite!
That JMS: he really annoys me, sometimes!

Not sure where to post this, but as the NEW series is scheduled to take place after this episode, can someone start a new TOPIC for the new RANGERS series??
