Just to state ahead of time: the TNT website says that in this episode, Londo pays with his freedom----not to spoil but it sounds like he'll be getting his Keeper soon.
By the way, the audio clip for the episode makes it osund as though sooner rather than later will the "War Without End" future be occuring.

Given the work that JMS has put into establishing the "War Without End" future, as you put it, we already know when it will occur. Londo and G'Kar will die in 2278.

Back in the first couple of episodes of series one(2258), Londo is chatting with someone, I think it's Sinclair, and mentions this dream he's had: "It is twenty years from now..."

Also, in WWE, it is established that it was 17 years since the end of the "little war with the Shadows" - which finished in 2261. From these two indicators, it seems to state clearly that 2278 marks the demise of Londo and G'Kar, and the accession of Vir to the throne.

If JMS does anything else, of course, we've got a nit on our hands...

Not really a nit, but I heard during Londo's holo-speech he referred to it as "the long night". I wonder if this is "the long night" referred by Kosh to Sheridan via Lochley in "Day of the Dead"? His message was "When the long night comes, return to the beginning of the end"

A fleet of starships perform an orbital bombardment on the capital of Centauri Prime and the thing is still standing?

Was that a Drakh that saved Londo's life back in "In the Kingdom of the Blind" when the white haired Centauri dude threw the knife at him and something caught it and threw it back to the assassin and killed him? If they can turn invisible, why do they need to hide in the shadows?

After the bombardment and the Regent's death, Londo looks out a window and we are treated to various flashbacks of Londo in various episodes. I assumed these were his memories...only one problem. One of the flashbacks was from "War Without End" where Londo and G'Kar strangle each other. Londo could not possibly have any memory of this. Sheridan, on the other hand, DOES know about the older Mollari and his Keeper. Perhaps Sheridan does not realize that Londo now has a Keeper, but you would think he would have warned Mollari about them.

The scene where G'Kar and Londo are struggling come from Londo's dream where he sees how he dies. It seems that Centauri see how they die in a dream. This was stated first in the first episode of the first season, "Midnight on the Firing Line."

By Richie Vest on Thursday, October 29, 1998 - 2:12 pm:

When Londo first sees the Drakh He starts to ask him "Who are you " then he changes it to "What are you"
He also asks twice "What do you want of me."

As soon as any British nitpickers hear the date of the transmission of this episode in the UK, please could you post it here? Thanks. I'm going crazy waiting!!

In response to Callie - for everybody in the UK here are the broadcast times of the final five episodes:

Monday 28th December 1998 - Friday 1st January 1999 at 11.30 in the morning on C4.

all letters of complaint for lack of publicity can go to the various TV magazines who failed to publicise it, as well as channel four. I found this out from my mother by complete accident, so thanks mom!

Benjamin - thanks! I agree - the TV magazine I bought yesterday has hidden the programme away in the middle of a paragraph! Don't Channel 4 have the slightest idea how popular this show is?!!

It'll be interesting to see if we get repeats at a more sensible time next year, as no doubt these daytime episodes will be heavily edited.
