This Slide of Paradise

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Sliders: Season Three: This Slide of Paradise
The group lands on an Earth where California appears to be islands. They work the way through a jungle where they are nearly killed by half human-half animal creatures. Due to some "friends", they make it to a safe compound. Unfortunately, during the trip to the compound, the timer was dropped. They also realize that Rickman is out there waiting for them. He takes some genetic material from the hybrids and partially transform into one himself.
Quinn and Maggie gear up and go track down the timer. They retrieve it while Rembrandt and Wade befriend a young hybrid, who they help to try overcome his animal instincts. The groups recombine to face Rickman in a cliffside battle... Rickman's timer is dropped and Rickman falls to his death. They save Rickman's timer. Unfortunately, to save Maggie's life, becuase she is barely hanging onto the cliffside, (Quinn also finds he is falling in love with Maggie), he tells Wade and Rembrandt to go on ahead of them with Rickman's timer... it has the coordinates of Earth Prime. The others slide and Quinn saves Maggie. They slide with the original timer, to a world where technology is so advanced, it looks like the future...

You know, I think that H.G. Wells should have gotten credit for this episode, as he wrote practically the same story, A HUNDRED YEARS EARLIER!!

This episode was just a rip-off of Mr. Wells's, book, The Island Of Dr. Moreau, with the Sliders thrown in.

Then again, so was nearly every episode of the 3rd Sliders season... has anyone ever compiled a list of the rip-off episodes and their 'inspirations,' I.E. Species, Twister, The Time Machine, Island of Dr. Moreau, etc.?

I know, Sliders really went down the tube once they moved production to Los Angeles.

Want to see Sliders at its best, watch the first two seasons that were made in Vancouver.
