The Exodus, Part One

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Sliders: Season Three: The Exodus, Part One
The Sliders arrive on a world in which the military retains much control of the population. They discover this is due to the fact that a cluster of pulsars is about to pass by the earth and eradicate all life. They meet with scientists who inform them that they have discovered sliding themselves and plan to evacuate the population to another earth. The group also meets with the obsessed leader of the military, Rickman, who is a veteran of this Earth's Gulf War and his trusted aide, Maggie Beckett, who is married to a parapalegic scientist. Then, Russia is hit by the first pulsar. The military "pursuades" Quinn to help Maggie use the military Earth's sliding technology to explore a few worlds correctly and find one to evacuate the people to...

At the end of this episode, Quinn and Maggie
slide on a world that seems very similar to
homeworld. Yet, being only 20 minutes on this
world, Quinn seems to decide too quickly that
this world is homeworld.

In this episode, Quinn states that their timer cannot store and recall coordinates like the scientist on the alternate Earh can. I have no problem with the 'recall' part, but in the Logan Sinclair episode, I thought they were analysing their timers 'memory' (or something) to try and find their homeworld (I think they were comparing it to Sinclairs or something- can't remember.), but I remember a scene with a computer comparing the two sets of coordinates.

[Rest of message edited due to being off topic and posted multiple times throguhout the board] Furthermore, some episodes and characterizations are truly gratuitous (e.g., Capt. Margaret Beckett being obscenely carnal when she was infected with a tapeworm-like entity). Plus, with what military information to which I have access I can tell you now that Capt. Margaret Beckett is no military officer, particularly in the US Marine Corps. The way she acts and is appalled over something as little as a mouse (not to mention the way she dresses) furthers the misconception of this character. Also, has anyone noticed how her last name is Capt. Beckett which is similar to Quantum Leap's Dr. Becket, except for the inclusion of a tee in her last name? I intend to add more as time permits. Please feel free to share your own theories, perspectives, etc.

The base for the military on this world is very cool. Not sure as to where it was filmed, but the buildings are nifty to view.It appears to be an actual place as opposed to a studio back lot.
