This is quite simply the finest hour of this series.Deeply moving & heartfelt with terrific performances all the way around. Its not action-packed exactly or FX laden, but neither was the original Star Trek's "City On the Edge of Forever." But that episode from Trek is considered a masterpiece,as this one is from Sliders. For a series that was uneven in its writing & had hit or miss episodes,"The Guardian" hit the ball right out of the park.

It's a strange thing that directly following THE WORST episode of Sliders I've ever seen came this masterpiece. Brilliantly written and beautifully acted, funny, moving, clever, and dang if this doesn't make Quin mallory TEN THOUSAND TIMES smarter than every other movie time-traveller put together... finally, someone who know how to deal with their past selves/family, comes up with a good story, maintains it, has a plan for altering the past beneficially, instead of just wandering around mucking up the timeline... I mean, this is just a BREATH OF FRESH AIR for fans of time-travel movies... Quinn was in charge, and it was GOOD. Greta revelation at the end, too.

But why, oh why, did they have to begin writing out Arturo- culminating (so I hear) with his death later this series- when he was just hitting his prime on this show?

Loved the Indiana Jones in-joke. The bar scene was great- both Arturo and Quinn were smooth operators in this one. And fianlly, a great ending. I think it's safe to call this the BEST of the Sliders episodes.
