A world where the super-intelligent have fans the way athletes do on our Earth, gangsters speak Latin, and public libraries have longer hours due to popular demand. Nikke (our Nike) uses the slogan: "Just think it." Alternate Quinn is the captain of the University of California's MINDGAME team (the Eggheads) but he's also $1,000,000 in debt to a gangster. Alternate Arturo is a Chairman at the University when he isn't on the lecture circuit at such places as the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas. In addition, alternate Arturo's wife has filed for divorce. (Arturo's wife on Earth Prime, the same woman, died when they were in their twenties and he's still very much in love with her.) Both alternate Quinn and alternate Arturo disappeared several months ago, supposedly on a slide, but our Sliders were never able to confirm that fact or locate their equipment.After competing in the MINDGAME tournament (like the Super Bowl) with the gangsters on the sidelines, Quinn and the team attempt an escape from the mobsters. While the timer continues to count down, a chase proceeds through the building, ending with the Sliders becoming cornered on the roof of the high-rise. Sporatically, Quinn jumps off the roof, followed by Wade, Rembrandt, and Arturo, opening the vortex before they hit the ground. To the gansters' suprise, the group slides on...

By Rene on Tuesday, September 14, 2004 - 7:39 pm: In this episode, Quinn gets excited because he thinks there is a sliding machine on this world. He claims, "We don't have to reconfigure the timer. We can just autoset the system. WE'RE GOING HOME." While it ended up that there was no sliding machine on this world, they have encountered sliding machines on other worlds. So why didn't they use those opportunities?
