I wonder what became of the two spider waasps that came through the wormhole with them after sliding from that world where they had all but taken over. If one of them was the queen then there would be problems.

If this man-made species was crafted carefully (by the Venezuelans) in terms of reproduction, the attacking ones would be sterile, while a few drones would be fertile to inseminate the queen's eggs. 60s Earth should be safe once the two of them die or are swatted. In the meantime, those two will kill a few people with their stings, and scientists will wonder where this species came from - a "missing link" where no link was imagined?!

I was trying to see what kind of cash register they had where the policemen gave Arturo a warning. Mechanical or electronic? It would have given me a clue as to whether the tech was 1960s, or whether it was early 1990s but the 60s culture just came a couple of decades later, or has persisted a lot longer than on our earth.
