In this episode, Fresno is portrayed as a small little town. On our world, this is not the case. Fresno has a population of 450,000+ and has a wide range of department stores and fast-food restaurants. Of course, they could always say that maybe in Maggie's world, Fresno IS small town. This parallel world thing sure does make it hard to find concrete nits!
And they probably love it that way. :)
Vince, I'm sure Fresno is a fine place, but for many folks who live in L.A. (who wrote Sliders) or The City (as I was told one should refer to San Francisco), anything that is not within the metropolitan area of those two megalopolii is considered small, podunk and not worth being considered.
So don't feel slighted: it's just a certain type of LA person being a snob. If you ask me, I'd think being maligned by people from LA is a compliment!
I resent that!
Of course, Taoiseach, Baltimore is just one of those small podunk towns!
