Right. I've got a particular scene in mind that I can't attach to the proper episode.
What I remember:
Tennant episode I'm 95% sure. Outside chance it was an Eccleston. I think Martha was the companion.
Takes place near the end of the episode.
Female character is trying to get the Doctor to take her along as a companion. She runs down a list of her positive attributes including 'I'm clever'.
She reminds me of Sally Sparrow and I briefly thought it was her until I watched 'Blink' again.
The Doctor doesn't take her for some reason I don't remember.
The Runaway Bride? or Partners in Crime. Either way, I'm sure it's Donna Noble....
Rodney, I don't think so. I think this was a one episode character only. But I'm not certain.
Anyone else know if it's Donna or not?
D'oh! It was Sally Sparrow, but it wasn't at the end of the episode. It was earlier, where she's listening to the recording of the Doctor.
I found a transcript of 'Blink' online and searched through it for 'clever' and there it was. My memory moved it to the end of the episode instead of a bit earlier and it was about communicating with him, not traveling.
Thanks for trying, Rodney.
Well, it couldn't have been Donna anyway, because the Doctor wanted her to come along and she was the one who said no. And regretted it afterward.
Though the second time she saw him, the Doctor had obviously totally forgotten about the invitation and looked a little appalled for a moment at Donna and her hatbox moving in with him...
Though of course poor Donna never thought she was clever.
Another one. When did Martha and Mickey meet up and become involved?
They met in Journey's End and promptly strolled off into the sunset together (together with Captain Jack as well). Whereupon we didn't see 'em till they were MARRIED (!!) in End of Time. Martha's marriage was actually mentioned in Torchwood: Children of Earth but it wasn't seen and one naturally assumed it was to the guy she was last seen ENGAGED to (albeit who had totally not been in evidence during Stolen Earth/Journey's End), Tom Milligan.
RTG admitted it was basically a joke - Martha started off in Smith and Jones and she ended up as Martha Smith-Jones (as if ANYONE would EVER change their name to THAT).
Thanks, Emily.
I spent ages trying to work out which episode had the Doctor saying he wanted to die 'as ME' before eventually realising it was The Doctor Games...
