'Lt Green, I want a meeting of Spectrum members.'

So how come Ochre, Magenta or any of the Angels aren't present?

The Mysteron rings seem to wobble a lot when they appear over the master valve. And they seemed to disappear unusually quickly too.

When Jason Smith throws the explosive into the path of Scarlet's SPV, he appears to throw it twice.

By Kinggodzillak on Wednesday, April 03, 2002 - 2:32 pm:

Actually, he kinda just tries to throw it, then abandons the idea, then has another go at it.

By Paul Joyce on Wednesday, April 03, 2002 - 3:01 pm:

Or did it get stuck to his hand? Stranger things have happened y'know:)

By Kinggodzillak on Sunday, April 14, 2002 - 2:56 pm:

Er..... excuse me? Mr Wilkin? Why not give someone else a chance to voice that Kinley puppet? You have rather been hogging it since the series started, haven't you? :)

By Paul Joyce on Tuesday, April 16, 2002 - 2:58 pm:

LOL

The Mysterons didn't really need to do anything - they already had Colonel Storm and Major Reeves there:)

By Kinggodzillak on Tuesday, April 16, 2002 - 3:20 pm:

And Kramer can be seen on the rig as well........

By Paul Joyce on Wednesday, April 17, 2002 - 1:30 pm:

Yes, but his voice was different, so he doesn't count.

By Kinggodzillak on Saturday, January 18, 2003 - 4:41 pm:

I was about to say "How do you know he was different, he didn't speak!" when I realised you thought I meant the SPV guy! That is him, but I actually meant he was on Rig 15 before it went up! He sure gets about.

Not long ago, I watched the movie "Hellfighters", a tribute to Red Adair, who pioneered the fighting of oil rig fires. Near the beginning, they had a man describing what was going on to a television reporter. The firefighters were extremely careful to remove every bit of metal from the fire area before they even tried to put the fire out. They had to make sure that there was nothing that could possibly create a spark and reignite the oil. They mentioned that even static electricity from someone rubbing their hands through their hair could be sufficient to restart the blaze. Jason Smith totally ignored all the chunks of rig lying around the fire when he went in to set the explosive.

Another point. When Smith was heading for the refinery, Scarlet would not allow the Angels to fire on him, pointing out that a pipeline ran beside the road and, if it were damaged and ignited, the fire would flash straight to the refinery and do Smith's job for him. Doesn't it seem ludicrous to have an oil pipeline running right beside the road? A simple, non-Mysteron car accident would be enough to destroy the refinery.

Apart from that, it was an interesting episode. I liked the way the characters were all shouting at each other over the roar of the flames; very realistic.

Given that all the oil workers seem to be employees of Spectrum, then the two Kramers are probably the same person.

And yes, DKH, it is a good episode.

The Angels followed Scarlet and Blue to the fire. Where were they when all the stuff was going on, and overnight?

Fire suit or no fire suit, it was utterly idiotic for Jason Smith to get out of his protected vehicle and stand right next to the flames. For that matter, it is not feasible for that vehicle to be that close when the explosion went off.

There are Mysteron-caused deaths all the time on this show, but that shot of Jason Smith being bulldozed into the debris was quite unpleasant, and somehow pathetic.

One oddity that I suddenly noticed: While Captain Black's face is deathly pale, looking as though he hasn't seen daylight in twenty years, his hands look perfectly normal.

When the "new" Jason Smith was in his truck, sorting through things, and heard someone outside, he called out, sounding quite ordinary. It was only after Captain Black spoke to him that he suddenly had that Mysteron Monotone.

Lucky that those explosions at the end didn't do any lasting harm to the refinery.
