Commander Shore and Phones had harpoons aimed at them. When Troy kicked at them just before they were triggered, the two harpoons ended up bracketing Phones. If Troy had kicked that thing just a little harder, Phones would have stopped laughing permanently.

Had that happened, it would have given us all some relief from Phones' laughing...

What a silly episode. I love the old sea captain singing his little sea shanty "What do you do with a drunken sailor?..." and his laugh is certainly as maniacal as Phones and Cmdr. Shore under laughing gas.
