Funny how the mind plays tricks on you. I saw this episode on the Sci-Fi channel years ago and I could have sworn that, at the end, Phones told Troy that Marina had been the one who got him back to the ship when he had fallen down the crevasse. (just why did he lose his bouyancy and fall, anyway?) I watched an uncut disc last night and no mention was made of it. Presumably Phones, who had stated that he was going after Troy, did so.

Side note here. When Troy made Marina a full-time member of the crew, he obviously just wanted someone decorative for his sub. Marina isn't allowed to do anything important, except when Troy and Phones are unavailable. Rather than waste oxygen and put an air-breathing person at risk diving (and there is ALWAYS a risk diving), wouldn't it make more sense to send a water-breathing person out to do such chores as attaching an air hose to a sunken sub, or to fetch an endangered crewmember? But no. Marina sits in the sub, reading magazines or newspapers or doing some sewing. Sheesh!

Watching this episode for the second time, I couldn't stop laughing, it was so absurd. "Can I do anything for you, Great One?" "Oh, yes, you can peel me another grape...." And do you think, even in a fantasy, that Atlanta would sit by, smiling indulgently, as Troy serenades her rival?

Just what would Troy have to explain to Commander Shore at the end? He made it sound as if he had deliberately gotten himself in trouble, rather than having what could have been a tragic accident.

Leaving him staring at the loose shells in his hand was a rather nice touch.

Troy is glad to still be an aquanaut as he realises that he was a complete prat in his dream. Well, Troy, sorry to disillusion you, but you're not exactly Mr. Perfect in real life.

>>Marina isn't allowed to do anything important

The previous ep makes it clear that her job is to tie up prisoners. :)

The decadent-Roman-kind-of-guy thing cracked me up.

It seems from Troy's fantasy, that he really takes Atlanta for granted as in "real life" and his fascination with Marina seems to come from her inability to speak. I mean, Atlanta can tell Troy to "kiss her ass" if she wanted to... whereas Marina can only frown, LOL. It's an interesting relationship he's got with these two women.

"May you live in interesting times."
---old Chinese curse

Remember, some people consider "interesting" another word for "dangerous"! :)
