This is dire, my brain melted watching it
There's an Aquaphinian in a dinner suit.
Wow
I couldn't make out the handwriting - who were the invitees to the party? I made out Gadus (from Hostages of the Deep) and Nucella (from Emergency Marineville).
And why did Troy dream Marineville Tower had a telephone of all things? (so Fisher can dial for a pizza while on night duty?)
Can anyone explain why Stingray was smaller than the crew when they burnt the plans, and suddenl they could fit in it?
Is this episode even worth justifying?
I think the explanations can be put down to a halluciantion!
Which episode is worse - "Tom Thumb Tempest" or "Raptures Of The Deep"? That one has Troy singing Aqua Marina and Marina talking!
At least this episode doesn't have Troy revelling in self glory as leader of 'Tempest Towers'!
Another problem with Tom Thumb Tempest is how could X2O be in Troys dream even though they never met each other until The Master Plan ?
When the Aquaphibian was cleaning the table I couldn't read the name, can any one tell me what it said? I first thought it was Maritamas (From The Big Gun) but now after watching it again it said something like Mennine or something.
But now that I think of it Maritamas couldn't of been in Tom Thumb Tempest, he was killed at the end of The Big Gun.
Why does he HAVE to have been killed? His physiology was tough enough to stand up to the pressure of the subterranean sea, he could be tough enough to survive the explosion. And just cos he's perhaps dead in reality, there's no absolute reason to ban him from appearing in a dream!
Gadus and Nucella were there too.
Troy and X20 didn't exactly meet in The Master Plan, seeing as X20 was hidden in a cloud of smoke and Troy was too busy running away.
Gadus and Nuchella were arrested and locked up in the Marineville jail.
In my opinion this episode should of shown the meeting with Titan and the others and so we could see all the aliens that work for Titan and why only the leaders why not their sidekicks as well like Maran, Chidora etc.
All in dinner jackets....the horror...
Gerry Anderson has stated elsewhere that he likes the concept of dream sequences, partly because you can have the characters doing all kinds of things that they normally wouldn't (or couldn't) do. But three dream sequences in one series? I suppose that we're lucky they only had one for Captain Scarlet, and that they waited for the theatrical movie for the Thunderbirds....
BTW, that was an awful piddling little bowl of nuts on the table. (No, I'm not referring to Troy, Phones, and Marina!)
What was the big deal about the fish knives (or forks? Whatever.) The only character I could see being perhaps offended would be the Aquaphibian himself.
I've just been reading the Gerry Anderson bio, What Made Thunderbirds Go, and it has a couple "interesting" statements about this episode.
"As well as being one of the most entertaining episodes of the series, 'Tom Thumb Tempest' is significant because it represents the APF team's first attempt to depict puppets on a human-sized set."
In regard to the first statement, I refer you to the previous comments on this board heading.
In regard to the second, I refer you to "Calling Charlie Queen" of the series Supercar, and "The Triads" of the series Fireball XL5.

It isn't bad at all, actually. Mainly because the dream incorporates a decent story, unlike the atrociously awful 'Raptures of the Deep,' probably the worst piece of Andersonia ever made.
I know the nit I'm about to mention applies to the dream sequence but I'm going to say it anyway. Why hide from the Aquaphibian and X20 their rayguns pack more than enough power to bring them down.
Also how does Troy know about X20? I know in the comics they are aware of his existance but they never knowingly meet in the series.
