Noptous and Greuber are back! And they haven't learned anything from their jail sentence.......:)

These two episodes shouldn't be so close together they should be at least 4 or more episodes apart.
And why bring them back? Did Alan Fennell like them so much he wanted them in his story?

I think it was just cos they looked good. They certainly are memorable.

David Graham has a different voice for Noptous/Greuber (I can't remember which one) from his deep normal voice (For A nut for Marineville) to a high slow voice (For Trapped in the Depths)

ARE they supposed to be the same two (disgustingly cute) aliens, or are they just two more from the same race?

Just how long had the Professor been planning this coup? Long enough to put together the fish farm? Long enough to write a book?

Poor Atlanta; she just can't get her point across to anyone. Troy and Phones think that she's just antsy from living underwater (this is an officer of the WASPs, for Heaven's sake!) And after going to all the trouble of acquiring a book that clearly lays out just what is going on, and telling her father where to find it, it just goes right over Dad's head.

Why on Earth didn't Atlanta tell Troy what was happening the instant he walked in? They carry weapons; they could have gotten the drop on the Professor very quickly. Why did she let him sit down at the table? They make a big deal about the WASPs being prepared to die for the cause, but most of them seem very concerned for their own skins. Atlanta must have known that the Professor had no intention of letting them live; why not risk her life and warn the others?

For that matter, why didn't the Professor kill them out of hand the moment they came in? Or just leave them trapped in the air lock, if he preferred death by suffocation? (That would have taken care of Marina, too.)

Atlanta managed to open the airlock (darn near knocking herself out in the process). By this time, Troy and Phones are nearly out of air, although Marina is fine. And what does Marina do? She just shakes Troy's shoulder and points. Why didn't she pick him up (like she did those big, heavy boulders) and heave him into the air lock? Troy and Phones could have died while she was trying to get Troy's attention.

Speaking of boulders, the Professor seemed awfully calm about them, considering that the intake hole was well above the level of the sea floor. If the intake force was that strong, they should have had all kinds of things being sucked in. Boulders, all the sand within a half mile radius, sea life, pieces of shipwreck, small submarines....

One touch that I really enjoyed: Troy's voice when he invited the Professor to step into the room. Utterly quiet, utterly polite, it was far more menacing than loud bombast would have been.

Noptous and Greuber's presence can be explained if this episode is seen before A Nut for Marineville, that episode could then be seen as a revenge attack. A Nut for Marineville is aired before it sometimes i'd somehow been able to tape them in that order.
