That mirror thing is a bit hard to make out.... it looks like a platform.
There's a scene in the plane, where the stewardess began questioning Joe, who didn't have his glasses on (and didn't bother casually slipping them on during the conversation, either). The tone of the stewardess' voice was distinctly sinister when she kept pressing him. I thought that she was going to turn out to be one of the Regent's spies.
They really should have had an explanation for why the "Prince" was travelling with two foreign men, who remained with him even after delivering him home. They could have said that they were tutors or advisors or some such.
They are aware that the Regent is most probably responsible for the Prince's kidnapping, and yet they let themselves get drugged! (And lucky that they weren't killed!) You can make allowances for Joe the kid, and his father, who is more or less an amateur at the spy business, but professional Sam Loover should have known better.
All right, so the Regent gets himself killed. Poetic justice. But what about that innocent truck driver, who couldn't possibly have survived that collision? (And by the way, why didn't he try to swerve?)
Nice of Joe's kidnapper to thoughtfully bring along his glasses.
I suppose that it's just the beard, but I still think that the Regent looks an awful lot like Jonathan Frakes.
