Again the Edge of Impact newspaper is seen.
It may have a dumb title but the main theme music for this episode is very good.
I agree. It has that sort of 'lumbering machine' music that wouldn't have been out of place in Thunderbirds.
It sounds a bit like the Sunprobe theme music.
You know, the music used when Thunderbird 3 was colliding into the sun.

When Alan came down the elevator.
The co-pilot at the start of this episode calls the plane
"XV 104" then the voice on the radio calls it "B 107" and later Shane calls it "XB 107"
No i'm wrong there, Shane calls it "B107" not "XB107"
So Dr. Kelvin is too old to tackle the mission--"nearly 70." My mother is seventy, and she's fighting fit. 70 is a kid.
Once those poor airmen eject, there is no further mention of them. No indication that anyone even looked for them--only for the missiles. (BTW, wouldn't that plane crash and burn be a little dangerous for the missiles?)
The underwater scenes were lovely.
I liked the casual chit-chat that the two men had in the sonar room.
Joe's been around Shane Weston too long. He's developing Shane's taste for bad puns.
Prof. McClaine can be incredibly thoughtless. It has been stated (in "Lone-Handed 90", I believe) that the cottage is 200 miles from the WIN building in London. It would have taken some time for Sam and Shane to drive down. Mac and Joe knew that they were coming and were all ready to go, but Mac couldn't be bothered to tell his housekeeper that she needn't make lunch for them. He waited until she was putting it on the table!
The Eastern Alliance people seem to be Russian, but in the first episode Shane Weston stated that they were not at odds with Russia. I've also read that the Russian KGB is incorporated into the World Intelligence Network!

If Mac's cottage is in Dorset, then it should only be about 90-100 miles from WIN HQ.
Perhaps Shane likes to take the scenic route...or else the London of this time has expanded into a vast, 100-mile wide metropolis and the WIN building is at the far end......or else the scriptwriter forgot to look at a map!
Regarding the 200 miles or 100 miles problem - they probably say 200 miles from force of habit. Shane and Sam are government employees - they most likely routinely "round up" 100 to 200 on their expense reports.
