A good title, but is it a good episode?
And what is the Tiger?
Is it the name of the Terrorist organisation, or something else?

By Kinggodzillak on Tuesday, June 18, 2002 - 1:57 pm:

It is quite a good episode.
TIGER is the codename for the project the Eastern Alliance plan to use to hold the hold to a nuclear ransom.

Right, thanks very much, I know this title shouldn't be taken literally (like Attack of the Alligators) but as I haven't seen this episode before I just had to ask.
Is it one of Tony Barwick’s all time classics?
and is this another violent episode?

By Kinggodzillak on Sunday, July 21, 2002 - 2:42 pm:

It is an all time classic. Not too violent, though Captain Ochre gets shot in the back of the neck, and Captain Brown's face has been severely mutiliated to make him look Asian. :)

Doesn't the Eastern Alliance make an appearance in Artic Adventure?
I remember reading something about an Eastern Alliance Base in the episode, am I right?

By Kinggodzillak on Tuesday, September 10, 2002 - 12:58 pm:

Yes it does. The Arctic Adventure Eastern Alliance base is more Russiany, whilst the Attack Eastern Base seems more Asian.

This Episode was selected to be converted into 3D Viewmaster discs for a 3 disc set. Anyone still got theirs?.

>>It is quite a good episode<<
Quite good, QUITE GOOD!!! Is that all? :)
This is the greatest of all the Joe 90 episodes.
A great choice of music.

What was the point of opening the rocket base at the start and at the end of the first part of the episode?
They're not going to fire for another 10 days

A good agent should know better than to stand in front of a window!

Why did they give Joe the same code name as the terrorist plan?

I loved that tone of Prof. McClaine's voice: "He didn't signal!" It always irks me when drivers ignore the driving rules.

If I'd been that pilot, I don't think that I'd have been in the mood to let some bratty kid point an antenna at me, even if I thought that it was a toy.

According to the episode guide, the explosions at the end were part of the ground defenses, but nothing is mentioned about them. They could just as easily been a part of the explosive chain reaction that Joe started.

Joe seemed quite certain that he was going to get hit sooner or later. If they'd had a bit more time, it would have been exciting to see his plane hit, and Joe having to nurse it back to friendly territory, while his father and Sam chewed their nails down to the bone.

Forgot to add this earlier--at the end of the episode, Joe calls in to Sam and Prof. McClaine, he addresses his father as "Mac" rather than "Dad". Perhaps Joe was still too deep in his adult persona.
