Breakout

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Supermarionation: Joe 90: Breakout

Most of the incidental music in this ep comes from Fireball XL5.
Its also quite violent - Pierre's head is smashed in by a truck door, Eddie is blasted by Real as he calls for help, and the two mounties, Lt Dean and Macey, are blasted too. Joe also shoots Robbins, who had actually not done much wrong!

Actually he shot Mornay, not Robbins. Robbins was on the train.

And speaking of the train, we see Robbins and the President rescued just before the bridge falls down. What about the train crew? I assume it had one.......

Which music from XL5 was used?

I couldn't place any names, but a statue is seen and music from XL5 plays that was often used in palaces and things to suggest important people arriving. There was also some stock XL5 danger music as Mornay and Real fire on the bridge.

I was really hoping that Mornay would discover the vicious stunt Real pulled to force Mornay to join with him, but they let that go by the wayside.

I noticed that Joe addressed his father as "Mac" again. Must be the adult influence.

Are Joe's "Uncles" real uncles, or are they just courtesy titles?

Why did Joe allow Real to see his WIN equipment? I thought that that was in a hidden compartment. Come to think of it, the only time I've seen his school equipment showing is in the closing credits.

Nice to see someone actually get injured after having a gun shot out of his hand, but Joe was awfully tight-lipped about it. And where did he find that bandage so quickly?

It was rather odd to see Real so concerned for the injured Mornay.

They didn't show anyone rescuing the train crew--you'd think that they would get the Prime Minister first--but Mac later said, "At least they got the people off the train." Perhaps the Prime minister insisted on the crew going first.

This was the first episode that I've seen with neither Sam or Shane in it.

Doesn't Moran's couch and chair look exactly like the couch and chair Mac and Joe have at their house?
