What are the flashbacks on this episode?
Shane tells the story of 'Most Special Agent'. Sam tells 'Hijacked.' Mac tells 'Colonel McClaine'. Joe tells people its his birthday. Over and over.....
Actually, I just saw this last night, and I don't recall Joe telling anyone that it was his birthday. Mrs. Harris told him that she had forgotten that it was his birthday, and Joe replied forlornly that everyone else seemed to have forgotten it too.
The show gives the impression that Joe 90 has been working since or shortly after his ninth birthday.
A birthday party made a decent excuse for a clip show, with everyone reminiscing about the past.
When Sam spoke of Joe's very first "real" mission, Joe says, "Which one was that?" Come on, now. Are we expected to believe that this kid didn't remember his very first mission? They could have found a better way to lead into it.
BTW, I noticed a nit that I didn't catch on the actual episode. In "Hi-Jacked", when Mac and Sam set out in Mac's Jetmobile, the long shots show two men in navy (well, dark, anyway) coats. However, in the closeups, Sam is wearing a light tan trench coat.
Why didn't anyone ask Joe what he thought his most memorable mission was?
>>Actually, I just saw this last night, and I don't recall Joe telling anyone that it was his birthday.
It was an unfunny joke. Laugh, its unfunny!
Happy now?
Did anyone else find it a little sad the only people at Joe's birthday party are his dad, his dad's friend, and they guy they work for?
Of course, if they'd had anyone else there, they wouldn't have been able to talk about Joe's missions. Maybe later they'll let him have a "public" party with his friends.
Actually, the only time that they hinted that Joe had outside interests was in an episode (can't recall it, offhand) where Joe had to rush home to the lab from playing a game--and they didn't even say what sport it was!
The episode was Relative Danger, Joe did say something that explained what the sport was but I can't remember what he said.
