Prisoner on the Lost Planet

Interesting how Commander Zero had to be reminded of his duty in answering distress calls.

I did not understand why the ship could not go around, above, or below the meteor shower. Why did it have to go straight through?

When the Amazon ex-Queen was in her seductive mode, she sounded like Melody Angel.

Steve was a bit of a twit. Right after he tells her that he cannot take her from the planet, she instantly stops protesting and offers him a drink, and he never suspects a thing.

Did Steve tell the ex-Queen things during the commercial break? How did she know that Steve's companion on Fireball Jr. was a woman?

I find it utterly absurd that Venus, who is presumably a trained pilot (See "Space Immigrants") would fail to initiate a proper take-off sequence. Even less feasible is the notion that Professor Matic would also overlook the obvious. (And why didn't Steve also say, "Just like a doddering old absent-minded professor!"?) It would have made more sense if, in addition to her volcano machinery, the ex-queen had managed to disable Fireball Jr.

Those legs on Fireball Jr. are really tough, not buckling in the slightest despite being enveloped in molten rock.

Convenient that the ex-queen fainted when she did, sparing Steve the necessity of shooting or slugging her.

They never said what the ex-queen's crime was. Perhaps she was condemned for acting like a Siren instead of a proper Amazon. How often do you see an Amazon reclining langorously on a couch?

After failing to get Fireball Jr. off the ground, Venus and Matic found that they could not get out of the ship, either--the doors had jammed. So...how did Steve manage to get back in?

Steve mentioned getting in touch with the UPO court. Was this to plead for the poor ex-Queen, now gone off her head, or to explain why he had had to interfere and remove her from the planet?

Pretty dim of the people responsible for the yearly supply drop, that they never noticed what she had been doing with her time.
