Professor Matic really gets a chance to shine in this episode, first finding that relatively tiny bit of debris, calculating where the main ship would be, and then calculating where Colonel Denton would have gone if he had managed to escape. However, he does lessen the effect while they were exploring the ruined ship by taking off his thruster pack, and thus requiring rescue when he gets knocked away from the ship. Why did he take the pack off? The packs didn't seem to be hindering Steve or Venus at all. Venus implied that the Professor had deliberately teased them by banging on the door. I had the impression that he was trying to open it.

I noticed that XL5 had finally been provided with a third hoverjet, so that no one had to double up on one, as in previous episodes. They probably did that just so that Venus would be alone when she fell.

Speaking of that fall...Venus' cry in no way resembled the scream that she let out in the first episode. Here, it sounded ridiculous. A high-pitched scream would have been perfectly natural and expectable under the circumstances, yet Venus let out a low, moaning, "Heelllllllp" that sounded like a baritone!

When Venus started yelling for help, the scene jumped erratically. First she was lying flat, then sitting up to her waist in ice. The next instant she was standing by the wall. Then she was sitting again, then finally standing by the wall again. I'm surprised that that wasn't cleaned up before it was aired.

It was understandable that Denton would want to stay on Arctan, but why didn't anyone suggest that they set up regular visits to Arctan, arrange for trading, add Arctan to the United Planets Organization, etc?

I wonder how Denton's subjects felt, when he said, right in front of them, that they were like children?

I'd meant to make this comment on earlier episodes: Considering how often Robert is left in charge, why hasn't he been programmed to respond to the radio?
