The Fire-Fighters

A nice, explosive ending to the series. Fireballs; very appropriate.

The fire scenes were well done, but I wish that they had mentioned just a little of the efforts to contain the fires around the world. Something like, "The Canadian firefighters have the blaze under control now, they think that they'll have it out in a couple of hours." They could have mentioned the stress of battling a fire, only to have a new one break out elsewhere.

They could also have had Venus and Zoonie react more to the sound of the fireball's approach. And why is it, after they had that ridiculous scream in the very first episode, they ignored situations like this one where it would have been very natural for Venus (or anyone else) to scream in terror?

Venus saw that her house was surrounded by fire. That being the case, I think that I would have opted for the path of least resistance and chanced the burns, rather than staying inside with the certainty of burning to death.

Steve managed to get inside the house and out again, without so much as getting singed. Of course, they couldn't have had that touching scene in the car if any or all of them were smarting from burns.

Skyball 1 had to be assembled in space; time was of the essence, as usual. So...wouldn't it have been sensible to transport a whole team of engineers up there to put the thing together, rather than just three people? We're talking about a space station, not some dinky little thing.

Why didn't they just tow Skyball 1 away from the Earth, when they saw that the oxygen valves had malfunctioned? As long as the gas was contained, it was not a threat.

30 XL ships out and about (less the ones that have been destroyed) and not one single pilot could so much as say "Hello" to the Commander? No wonder the poor guy sounded like he was about to cry!
