To my knowledge this was the first Supermarionation show to have a title for the pilot episode.

Yes it was Adam.
And you can drop the accent now we are quite alone :)

Well The pilot of Captain Scarlet had the caption 'Mars: 2068' (Just about tea time :))
but then that does not count as a title :(

Does anyone have the lyrics to the theme music?

I finally got a copy of this series, and watched the first episode today.

The music was rather a shock, after the music from the previous shows, but catchy.

I think that it might have been a little better if they'd done some explaining at the beginning of the episode, rather than near the end. How did this parish priest get a miniaturizing gadget? How did he come to be working for the secret service? Perhaps they didn't want to copy Joe 90 by having an introductory episode, but it would have been helpful.

I thought that the blending of miniature sets and "live" sets was done fairly neatly.

Does the miniaturizer only miniaturize living things? And it seems to be very localized. It only effected the ambassador, not the two men standing close to him.

When the ambassador pushed the little suitcase off the plane, it would have been sensible to look inside to see if it did, indeed, contain the computer.

I was surprised that the ambassador and his driver never commented on how fast the Father's elderly car could go.

At one point, Father Unwin is outside, apparently speaking to the sky and saying, "I'll be with you soon." I loved Mrs. Appleby's reaction: "Don't be morbid!"

The miniaturizer is able to miniaturise Gabriel and itself, strangely enough, in The Cure and More Haste Less Speed.

It must be very localized, then, because otherwise it should have shrunk the bookcase along with Matthew. (Not to mention the handy-dandy carrying case down by his foot.)

(I'm also trusting that the carrying case has air vents somewhere...:))
