New CGI series - Thunderbirds Are Go

Is there a current moderator for Supermarionation? If so, could we have a topic for the new mostly-CGI series called Thunderbirds Are Go which has just started in the UK?

I'll put my comments for the first episode, Ring of Fire, here before I forget them:

I had to laugh at the fact that the transition of the characters into their ships, including the application of their uniforms, is all done with fantastic automation, yet Virgil has to close the roof of TB2 manually! And when Scott stood at the end of the walkway as it extended out towards TB1, I snorted and said, "Too cool for handrails!"

I sometimes found it hard to tell Scott and Virgil apart, especially in close-ups of their faces.

Penelope's hair annoys me because it never moves even if she bends her head. She must have a ton of product in it! Also her voice seems far too high-pitched compared to the original Penny's much deeper voice, and her acting is terrible. I couldn't help but think back to Reggie Yates' programme about the show when Sylvia Anderson said she had never imagined anyone else voicing Penelope because she didn't think anyone else could do it well enough. Looks like you were right, Sylvia. Mind you, it wasn't just that character whose voiceover artist didn't sound very natural.

Presumably the disappearance of Jeff will be a recurring theme throughout the series. I wonder if he'll ever be found?

I wonder whether TinTin has been renamed to avoid confusion with Herge's character?

For those who don't know, Parker is voiced by the original actor.

In perhaps an homage to the original series, sometimes the people who needed rescuing were bloody useless. When Gordon was swimming back and forth to rescue the people in the underwater vessel, I was asking, "What's the matter with them? Can't they bloody swim?"

Having the original Jeff Tracy voice for the "5-4-3-2-1" bit in the opening titles was wonderful, but using it each time the Thunderbirds took off got tedious very quickly. But all in all, the first episode was very enjoyable.
