Why haven’t they fixed the third spacesuit yet? I seem to remember Lisa saying there was a third one way back in Water and the impression I got was that it just needed some repairs to get it working.

I’d be interested to know whether such a tiny thing as a Kino really could tow a grown man across space. I’d like to think that the writers did some research on that, but this is Stargate and they never let science get in the way of fiction!

I applaud the director on the sneaky way that most of the first crossing-the-gap scene was kept to oral reports over comms rather than having to pay the vis effects people lots of money to film it! Obviously they were saving the budget for the spectacular footage later, but it was still sneaky!

I know that Rush is a genius but this business of him being able to activate alien controls without ever fumbling, looking at them and thinking about how they might work, or getting it wrong first time is just a little bit ludicrous.

I am totally in love with the new repeated theme in the background music this season. It’s a very simple piano tune but it’s gorgeous.

It’s very convenient that these aliens not only breathed our kind of air in the first place, but in exactly the same mix, cos I don’t think Nick had time to refine the mixture if it was different.

It makes absolutely no sense to send Ginn to swap with Perry. As an alien she may have no understanding at all about how Perry’s condition works, and surely Camille would have had to spend ages with her explaining what it would be like. And all the time the alien ship is drifting away and comms could go down at any time. Surely they needed to get Amanda there as quickly as possible, and therefore Camille should have done the swap because she’s done it before. Even if she copes with the swap and the physical differences while in Amanda’s body, Ginn’s likely to be too confused and distressed to be able to concentrate properly on her interview/interrogation with Homeworld Security while she’s on Earth.

Camille says, “[Ginn]’s fully aware of the communication stones protocol.” There’s a protocol?!! Well, I suppose there is: it’s two words long and reads, “Anything goes.”

I watched closely as they showed the transfer between Ginn and Amanda and was a little bit disappointed that there actually was a moment when they cut away from Ginn so that the actress playing Amanda could be the one who reached out and put the stone on the box. If they had managed to keep Ginn’s face in shot a little longer before the camera moved across with the hand, it would have been an awesome sequence.

I wonder if this is the first time that Amanda and Camille have actually met. Perhaps not, from the way that Mandy greets Camille.

I wish they’d had more time to concentrate on Amanda’s difficulty in writing. It was really interesting watching her struggling to coordinate her hands, and I even wondered whether Ginn is left-handed but Mandy was right-handed or whether it was simply that she was so out of practice, but they moved away from that issue too quickly.

I adore these macho-offs between Greer and Simeon. Greer so beats the living daylights out of him without even touching him!

When Amanda stepped onto the Bridge, I found myself wondering whether she would have an encounter with Franklin or any other image.

When Amanda first gets Destiny to start turning around, Nicholas suggests that she tells the others that she was in the “Engine Control Room”. However, hadn’t he earlier sent Lisa to the “Engineering Control Room” which I assume is the same place? If Lisa’s there, how can Amanda claim to have been there?

Writing the transcript meant going through the fight scene moment by moment with lots of pausing to see exactly what was going on and who was doing what to whom. Just after Nick drops the Kino and it rolls away, he gets on top of Young and then pulls him up and headbutts him. I admit I cheered at that moment, cos he’d finally got his own back for the one Young gave him just before he abandoned him last season!

I loved the return of the “lot of work” line.

Why is all this information about Destiny and her mission not more prominent in Atlantis’ database? If anyone but the Ancients found the information they might be able to take over the mission if they only knew how to get to the ship, and they might not be bad guys. And seeing as the Atlantis Gate was programmed only to be opened by a dial-in from Earth, it was more likely that humans would find Atlantis, and they definitely ought to be told about the mission.

Eli suggests that Young jumped too soon, but that wasn’t made clear when we saw him leave the ship. Did Math Boy just get it wrong?

As soon as Nick and Amanda started drinking, I hid my face behind my hands, moaning, “Nooo! They’re going to sleep together and Eli’s gonna find out!” At least it wasn’t quite as bad as that.

My underwear spontaneously combusted at the look on Nick’s face as he gazed at Mandy shortly before he kissed her. Probably TMI, but there you go!

Just how did Simeon slip his guard?

Hell of an episode, and some superb vis effects. The external footage of Destiny in particular seems to get more detailed all the time.

So Rush's secret is finally out. About time.

Have he and Young really put their differences behind them. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I loved Eli's line to Chloe about his being busy. Clearly he's not gonna say "I've been boffing Ginn." to her.

I wonder what race built that ship they found?

Loved the knock down, drag out fight that Young and Rush had.

This whole "secret of the universe" thing is interesting. As long as the answer is NOT 42 :-)

Why is Simeon wandering the ship without a guard. This guy is TROUBLE! Looks like next week is gonna show that (from the preview, he kidnaps Ginn/Amanda and takes her to a planet). I hope Greer finally blows this guy away.

Another good episode.

>Have he and Young really put their differences behind them.>

I wouldn't bet on it.
