Two characters from Atlatis paid a visit, Rodney McKay and Richard Woolsy (played by Robert Picardo). I was familiar with these characters, althught I had never seen Atlantis.

Truth be told, I found Rush story much more interesting in that he goes into the ship to see Mandy and gets trapped there. The only way to get him out was to store both Mandy and Ginn in a protected file, meaning they cannot be accessed. I guess this gets around the idea of calling them up whenever. Of course, if they need to be brought back, a way could be found. Mind you, since the show is cancelled, I guess that won't happen. So this will be left dangling.

Loved James when McKay arrives and stares at her breasts: "Up here!"

Greer continues to get better. Hope he's back on his feet soon.

So poor Eli won't get his turn with Ginn, unless he finds a way to access the storied file.

Victor Garber was in this episode. He played the alien ambassador.

Why does this alien planet have technology from 1947?

This episode was kind of a downer. We just get Ginn and Amanda back, now they're gone again, at least for the time being (I'm sure Rush and Eli will try and find a way to access them again).

Tim, alien planets populated by humans have all developed technology at different rates. Some have barely progressed at all since they were dumped there by the Goa’uld all those tens of thousands of years ago; others have got technology way in advance of our own. A lot depends on whether the inhabitants of the planets have been using their Stargate to learn from other races.

Clearly the Langarans have been hanging around Earth for far too long. Couldn’t the wardrobe budget have run to clothing just a little more alien? Non-SG-1 or Atlantis viewers, who may not really have got their heads around the fact that Earth regularly allows alien visitors, might not immediately even realise that the Ambassador and his people are from another planet.

Love the way that Atlantis-type music plays when Rodney walks into the conference room.

Ah, Rodney, I’ve missed you. Writing transcripts just hasn’t been the same since I haven’t had to re-wind your lines over and over again to catch what you’re saying, particularly when you’re rolling out a string of “no-no-no-no-no”s.

Again the budget must be running out: the corridor that Telford, Rodney and Richard walk along is very obviously the same set they used for “Alliances” two weeks ago. Telford even goes into the same room that Greer and Camille went into to shelter from the bombing.

The airman whose body Young transfers into appears to be named “Philander.” Is that even a real name?!

Why aren’t Homeworld Security more sensitive to the Langarans? Not so long ago (in episodes of SG-1) the planet was taken over by the Ori, so of course they’re going to be less trusting and more willing to listen to all different parties who are offering them deals.

I do wish that writers/directors would make sure that all the actors know how to pronounce alien names. Some of the cast were calling them “Lan-gah-rans” and others “Lan-gair-ans.”

Great line:
Young (talking about Rush): “Just do me a favour. Get him on his feet so I can knock him on his ass when I’m back.”

The establishing shots of the inside of the Langaran facility are really bad. The first shot looks like a horizontal shot along their own version of the Large Hadron Collider, and it’s only after the camera has moved away that we realise that the camera was aiming downwards into a shaft bored into the planet’s core.

Ah, so that’s where this episode’s budget went, on the Langaran industrial facility. Were all those huge generators built just for this episode? That’s an amazing piece of work if they were.

The scriptwriters are out of practice. Offworld Gates don’t spin in the Milky Way.

I giggled when I realised how they had darkened Brian Smith’s hand so that it looked like the captain was picking up the stone before the camera moved up to show Scott’s face.

It’s a good job that the captain opened the correct box, or Scott would have had to run the show from inside Halpern’s body.

Administrator Halpern could do with a few lessons in diplomacy. Greeting Earth’s negotiator simply as “Woolsey” is a bit rude! Or maybe it’s just a Langaran tradition to speak that way.

And more examples of how out of practice everyone is in relating back to earlier series: Woolsey says, “SG-1 teams four and five should be arriving in five minutes.” Surely he should have said, “SG teams ...”! SG-1 is a team in its own right.

I love Young telling Rodney, “Sheppard’s right,” although that line will have confused any non-Atlantis viewers!

Why don’t the Langaran administrator and captain briefly return to their own bodies when Destiny leaves F.T.L.? Or were their own bodies conveniently somewhere a long way away from everyone else so that they didn’t have time to raise the alarm?

Why doesn’t Langara have a D.H.D.? I’m sure they used to do. Actually, though, that might explain why their Gate spins if they activate it using a computer system, but surely they must have got that from Earth.

Love the way that Rodney describes himself as “the brilliant scientist relegated to shouting out the obvious in terms of chevrons”!

Rodney saves the day by talking the most sense?! Rodney McKay?!! Wow – maybe we’re all stuck in Destiny’s mainframe too!

Yep, the budget definitely went on the Langaran facility. When Young raises his hands in surrender we get a full shot of his body and those trousers are about three inches too long for him. He’s in Halpern’s body and his clothes ought to fit him unless Halpern himself wears clothing too big for him. It looks like the wardrobe department just found the nearest-fitting clothes they could for Louis to wear.

Why would a scientist like Amanda believe that a concept like “love” could keep the simulation working properly?

Not quite the exciting Atlantis crossover I was hoping for, but it’s always a delight to see Rodney.

Thanks, Cally. You've been a good source of information for me, when it comes to my lack of knowledge in regards to the Stargate franchise.

I know, all in their suits and ties. They looked more like businessmen down from New York City!

GREAT MISSED OPPORTUNITY: Richard Woolsey (Robert Picardo) visits Destiny and says: "I get the strangest feeling I've been in a situation like this before." Referring to Mr. Picardo's role on Voyager, another ship stranded far from Earth.
