Best/Worst Stooge Episodes

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: The Three Stooges: Soitenly Stooge Sink: Best/Worst Stooge Episodes

I REALLY enjoy Disorder in the Court and Malice in the Palace. I'm leaning towards Malice in the Palace due to the side-cramping hilarity of Larry's "dog-and-cat" misunderstanding, and the other's reactions to his "apparent" serving them for supper.

The single best Stooge episode is the one where Moe & Larry are attempting to pass Curly off as a visiting Maja Raja (don't recall the episode name). The question and response routine between Moe and Curly of "Maha?", Ah-ha?" followed by a Curly monologue of foreign sounding jibberish is a total hoot. And Curly's occasional lapse into understandable English with "Oh, shut up. I don't have to," makes my laff muscles hurt. ;-) (BTW, I'm Derf's older brother. Taught him everything he knows! Hi, bro!)

It's obvious Curly was in poor health when they filmed the 1946 portions of Beer Barrel Polecats. Only the recycled portions from earlier Stooge episodes had Curly in his true form. The '46 portions had Curly barely able to walk, much less perform for the camera. This is the reason I think this is one for the "worst episode" list.

Stooges as plumbers.

I like those episodes as well ... very funny!!

The "golf" episode is called Three Little Beers (1935)
Synopsis:
The Panther Brewing Company is having trouble making deliveries on time, so they hire the Stooges as new delivery men. When they make a delivery to the local golf course, the boys decide to take some time out to practice for the company tournament, and proceed to demolish the course.

The "plumbers" episode is dependent upon WHICH one you like - there are THREE!
1. A-Plumbing We Will Go (1940) With Moe, Larry & Curly
2. Vagabond Loafers (1949) Remake With Moe, Larry & Shemp
3. Scheming Schemers (1956) Remake With Moe, Larry & Shemp Double Joe Palma

All three have this basic synopsis:
The Stooges are plumbers responding to a call about a leaky pipe. Moe sends Larry out in the yard to look for the valve to shut off the water. He spends the rest of the episode digging up the yard. Meanwhile, Curly/Shemp finds an electrical conduit and mistakes it for a water pipe. They connect the two pipes and the fun begins.
