Very odd yet amusing comedy. They obviously wanted to try something a little different. Benny Rubin is a standout as the much tormented landlord. When he is blinded by flypaper stuck to his face,he is lead to the door and guided outside with Moe's help, he falls down the stair well! Moe asks if he is Alright. He answers "Yes, I'm o.k., i fell on my face"! Far from Joe's best appearance with the boys but his style would develop with Moe and Larry over time.

I think Columbia tried to invent new plots for The Stooges to follow, and that's the reason for the odd, strange situation. Besides, they had to fill up the time that would have been spent slapping, kicking and poking Joe. Moe can't spend the entire episode mistreating Larry. The new plot idea began to flag pretty soon, because of the 16 shorts Joe was in, only 9 of them were original plots. The other 7 were remakes of previous shorts.

Syntax Problem:
Is it "H-oo-fs and Goofs" or "H-uh-fs and Goofs"?
(I know it REALLY should be "Hooves and Goofs")
