Comments on the NBC Stooges "75th Anniversary Special"

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: The Three Stooges: Soitenly Stooge Sink: Comments on the NBC Stooges "75th Anniversary Special"

My first reaction was ...
It was a viewing worthy of my time spent in front of the TV. The boys were portrayed in a pleasing and upbeat light, and they took time to even mention Joe Besser and Joe DeRita. C3 even managed to air some rare "home movie" footage and photos that I probably would never have seen before. And the few Guest Interviews (Tom Arnold, most notably) gave a warm and friendly remembrance of watching the boys when they themselves were young.
And EVEN the program may have peaked the interest of a few young viewers wishing to know more about our boys.

My "Stoogite" reaction is ...
1) It was a shallow and topical presentation that should NEVER have been only one hour long!
2) Even Mel Gibson would have done a better job than Woody!
3) They NEVER explained WHY it was an "anniversary special"! They quickly skipped over the "1927" thing and never looked back!
4) The chosen "Best Stooge Moment" was the scene in "Hoi Polloi" where the dance instructor gets a bee down the back of her dress, and the boys trying to "do as she does" ... which is a great scene, but HOW did that get voted the BEST??

I didn't even know this was on. My sister told me about it on over the phone, but by then it was too late. Oh well, perhaps it will be rerun later.

Why was this the 75th Anniversary of the Stooges, by the way? (I know, I'm showing my ignorance here, Derf. Please excuse the ignorance.)
